Generally, thin-layer chromatography always undertakes the indispensable role in rapid screening and identification of specific compounds. Stationary phase is core part with fixed property, which leading to limitations separation mode only regulating composition mobile phase. This work was an attempt fabricate unique photosensitive make up above major drawback. 4-[3-(Triethoxysilyl)propoxy]azobenzene (azo-PTES) synthesized as modifier stationary phase, transformation cis-trans structure azo-PTES proceeds along polarity difference under 365 nm 473 irradiation. Based on this, proposed shows reversible switch by photoinduction, followed deserved behavior. Furthermore, multi-regulation spatial dimension achieved based high freedom regulation brings about integration different polarity, just photoinduction. The concept provides new idea for improving efficiency developing multi-dimensional one plate.

The investigation of pollutant inputs via stormwater runoff and subsequent effects in receiving waters is becoming increasingly urgent view climate change with accompanying extreme weather situations such as heavy rainfall events. In this study, two sampling areas, one urban rural but dominated by a highway, were investigated using effect-directed analysis to identify endocrine neurotoxic potentially responsible substances structures waters. For purpose, transgenic yeast cell assay for the simultaneous detection estrogenic, androgenic, progestogenic (YMEES) was performed directly on high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) plates. Concomitantly, estrogens analyzed GC-MS/MS other micropollutants typical wastewater LC-MS/MS. Discharges from combined sewer overflow (CSO) contribute large portion load studied water body, even surpassing nearby treatment plant (WWTP). An effect pattern similar CSO sample shown after lower intensities, consisting an effect. contrast, WWTP, only estrogenic intensity detected. Concentrations E1, 17α-E2, 17β-E2, EE2, E3 2000, 410, 1100, 560, 2700 pg/L, respectively. HPTLC-YMEES complement each very well help elucidate stresses. Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory could not be assigned causative compound suspect non-target LC-HRMS. However, workflow showed how information HPTLC separation, effect-based methods, meta-information area substance properties can identification effect-responsible substances. Overall, study demonstrated that methods combination instrumental implemented investigate pollution run-off particularly regarding rain events due change.

Chromatographic methods are widely used in the separation and identification of bioactive compounds complex samples. Chromatography is a technique that based on components mixture into stationary mobile phase. There several types chromatography, including liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas (GC), thin-layer (TLC), ion-exchange chromatography. Each type has its advantages disadvantages more suitable for different samples compounds. For example, HPLC often to separate high-polarity compounds, while GC best suited volatile can be combined with other analytical methods, such as mass spectrometry, help identify specific sample. Together, these chromatographic spectrometric have been characterization plants, microorganisms, natural matrices.
