Cities as interaction help to develop new solutions, applications. Purpose This study aims to explore the impact of green inclusive leadership (GIL) on creativity (GCRY) within context higher education institutions (HEIs) in China. Specifically, it examine mediating roles intrinsic motivation (GIM), environmental knowledge (EK) and thinking (GT) according componential theory (CTC). Design/methodology/approach The employed a series questionnaire surveys collect data at three different time points from various sources. A total 583 leader-faculty matched samples were obtained two universities hypothesized relationships tested using PROCESS macro SPSS. Findings findings indicate beneficial influence GIL GCRY, mediated by GIM, EK GT.
