With the increase in intermittent power supply by renewables, there is an integration challenge system and a need for new approaches to supply-demand matching. Dispatchable capacity expected remain essential source of ultimate flexibility, although active only few hours per year. We assess (dis)advantages different CO2-free dispatchable options Netherlands through literature review expert interviews. Subsequently, we use these findings policy goals project possible transition pathways. For Netherlands, pathways differ mainly short-term, but align on hydrogen-based solution long-term.

Multi-criteria methods are highly attractive tools to address the inherent complexity of evaluating problems in various scientific areas. The combination such as Delphi/AHP is emerging a robust alternative evaluate sustainability renewable energy sources. In this theoretical-descriptive research, use Delphi method proposed select criteria and sub-criteria obtain high level reliability, while AHP used establish an order preference among alternatives analyzed. This process requires support committee experts, whose role identify biomass that can be sugar industry, considering aspects related sustainability. selected experts have identified energy, exergy, emergetic indicators, which economic, environmental, social integrated. multi-criteria analysis shows V1 variant was most satisfactory terms sustainability, representing 45% 53% overall priorities evaluated case studies. addition, sensitivity under equal-weighted scenario for both study cases evidenced acquired highest score (38.17%) all alternatives. Variant V4 achieved second (31.79%), V2 only 29.04%, respectively. integration emerges novel tool assess different industries sector.

As environmental sustainability gains importance, enhancing supply chains to minimize hazards is essential, particularly in industries using residual biomass. This study tackles this by investigating the integration of criteria into chain optimization for a biomass energy company Portugal, combination simulation modeling through anyLogistix software (version: 2.15.3.202209061204) and multi-criteria decision-making. Four scenarios were designed simulated, differing their number distribution centers, adoption green logistics, split-by-ratio strategies over 305-day period. Through weighted sum model, Scenario C emerged as optimal configuration, achieving balance between operational efficiency reducing CO2 emissions up 90% lowering transportation costs without compromising revenue. Sensitivity analysis further highlighted trade-offs cost efficiency, lead times, impact, showing that strategic placement centers use eco-friendly vehicles significantly improve chain. These findings provide practical insights decision-makers, demonstrating how digital tools can enhance management optimizing goals simultaneously. research contributes fields sustainable logistics validating effectiveness decision-making approaches impact while maintaining economic viability.
