Microplastics are well known for vector transport of hydrophobic organic contaminants, and there growing concerns regarding their potential adverse effects on ecosystems human health. Although sorption capacities microplastics different PPCP been investigated extensively, these findings not yet synthesized analyzed critically. objectives this review were synthesize critically assess factors affect adsorption microplastic surfaces environment. also focuses pH, salinity, dissolved organics, properties polymers relationships dynamics mechanisms. Furthermore, ecotoxicological PPCP-sorbed biota health discussed.
