ABSTRACT Introduction Antimicrobial resistance and free radical‐mediated oxidative stress inflammation involved in many pathological processes have become treatment challenges. One strategy is to search for antimicrobial antioxidant ingredients from natural aromatic plants. This study established a rapid high‐throughput effect‐component analysis method screen active Ligusticum chuanxiong essential oil (CXEO). Objective The aims phthalides with activities CXEO by high‐performance thin‐layer chromatography (HPTLC)‐bioautography combined HPLC‐TOF/MS method. Methods activity was evaluated disc diffusion micro broth dilution methods. Antioxidant capacity performed DPPH scavenging test. Phthalides were identified using HPTLC–bioautography technique of antifungal activities. Results had significant inhibitory against Candida albicans , weak or undetected Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli Pseudomonas aeruginosa . For tested strains C. inhibition zone diameters ranged 13 17 mm, MICs 0.5 2 mg mL −1 also strong activity, IC 50 value radicals 1.014 ± 0.014 Nine tentatively identified. Ligustilide senkyunolide A screened both property. Conclusion HPTLC‐bioautography–MS‐guided very practical screening CXEO. In vitro experiments shown that good biological activities, which may be used the infection damage caused various diseases. therapeutic potential should validated vivo future.

Szechwan lovage rhizome (SLR, the of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort., Chuanxiong in Chinese transliteration) is one materia medica (CMM) commonly used to activate blood circulation and remove stasis. SLR applicable most stasis syndromes. It has significant clinical efficacy relation human diseases cardiocerebrovascular system, nervous respiratory digestive urinary etc. Apart from China, also Singapore, Malaysia, European Union, United States America. However, current chemical markers pharmacopeia or monography for quality assessment are not well characterized specifically characterized, nor do they fully reflect medicinal SLR, resulting being effectively controlled. CMM can only have when applied vivo an organism. The intensity their pharmaceutical activities more directly represent CMM. Therefore, constituents pharmacological actions reviewed this paper. In order demonstrate promoting removing stasis, bioassay methods put forward evaluate improve hemorheology, hemodynamics, vascular microcirculation, as its anti-platelet aggregation anticoagulation properties. Through comprehensive analyses these properties, therapeutic value ascertained.

Dermatophagoides farinae is a species closely linked to human health. This study investigated the acaricidal efficacy of methanol extracts from 18 traditional Chinese medicinal plants against D. farinae. The extract Ligusticum striatum DC. exhibited highest properties. Sequential extraction was applied reveal active component in ethyl acetate extract, identified as senkyunolide A (SEA) by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analyses. Transcriptomic analysis performed following SEA exposure for 6, 12, 24 h, revealing total 8212, 4000, 10 940 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) farinae, respectively. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment indicated that DEGs three time periods were mainly enriched cellular processes, binding catalytic activity, cell parts. Kyoto Encyclopaedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) substantial changes oxidative phosphorylation pathway over periods. These findings suggest mechanism may disrupt energy metabolism, leading metabolic disorders. also an inhibitory effect on carboxylesterase among detoxification enzyme genes, well up-regulatory calmodulin (CaM), which lead nerve death, ultimately resulting mortality

The dried rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong S.H.Qiu, Y.Q.Zeng, K.Y.Pan, Y.C.Tang and J.M.Xu (Apiaceae; including the horticultural variety Hort.) [synonym: Conioselinum anthriscoides (H.Boissieu) Pimenov Kljuykov (The taxonomic classification has been adopted by World Checklist Vascular Plants)] is a traditional Chinese botanical drug renowned for its anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties. It widely used to treatment various diseases, particularly cardio-cerebral vascular diseases (CCVDs). This review aims summarize recent advances in (CX) research, chemical composition pharmacological effects, modern clinical applications. A systematic literature search was conducted using keywords such as "Chuanxiong," "traditional medicine," "chemical components," "metabolites," "CCVDs," "pharmacological effects" identify relevant published between 2014 2025. Databases PubMed, Web Science, Google Scholar, CNKI were utilized. Chemical structures SMILES format retrieved from PubChem, two-dimensional generated ChemDraw Ultra 8.0. Classical prescriptions obtained authoritative medicine databases. Over 100 metabolites have isolated identified CX, classified into nine major classes. Key bioactive compounds include senkyunolide A, ligustilide, tetramethylpyrazine (TMP), ligusticum CX polysaccharides (LCP). demonstrates significant effects treating CCVDs, atherosclerosis (AS), myocardial cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, hypertension. Its therapeutic mechanisms antiplatelet activity, endothelial cell protection, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic can be administered alone or combination with other medicines (TCMs) drugs, showing efficacy cardiovascular, nervous system, digestive system disorders, well analgesia anticancer activities. holds substantial value multi-system extensive evidence supporting use CCVDs. Further research exploration are warranted fully harness potential.

In this study, the antidiabetic activities of Lepionurus sylvestris Blume extract (LSB) in rats was investigated. The vitro properties LSB evaluated using α-amylase, α-glucosidase and DPP-IV inhibitory assays, while antioxidant assay analysed DPPH, ABTS FRAP assays. Type 2 diabetes with high-fructose/streptozotocin, diabetic animals were treated for 5 weeks. At end experiment, effects via insulin level, lipid profile hepatorenal function biomarkers. level oxido-inflammatory parameters, histopathology immunohistochemical staining pancreas evaluated. Diabetic manifested significant increases blood glucose food/water intake, profiles, biomarkers, as well a marked decreases body weight serum levels. Histopathological examination also revealed decreased pancreatic beta cells positive cells, respectively. These alterations associated malondialdehyde, TNF-α IL-1β, addition to declines GSH, SOD CAT activities. significantly reduced intolerance, lipids, restored altered functions rats. Further, showed anti-inflammatory by reducing TNF-α, increasing enzymes tissues. A total 77 secondary metabolites tentatively identified UPLC-Q-TOF-MS analysis LSB. Overall, these findings provides insight into potentials an agent which may be plethora bioactive compounds plant.
