Propolis is a resinous substance produced by bees that has several biomedical properties could contribute to the repair process of gastric mucosa, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, healing, and gastroprotective properties. Thus, this study aimed determine chemical composition Mexicali propolis, its antioxidant capacity, effect on repair. Three polarity-directed extracts were obtained: ethanolic extract, ethyl acetate hexane extract. The activity, total phenolic content (TPC), flavone/flavonol determined for each was analysed using HPLC-TOF-MS (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrometry) GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry), 52 compounds identified. results revealed extract had greatest free radical scavenging bioactive compounds. On basis these results, propolis (MeEEP) subsequently evaluated. Prior evaluation, MeEEP found exhibit low oral toxicity, under Organisation Economic Co-operation Development (OECD) 425 guidelines. Gastric injury induced in male C57BL/6 mice intragastric administration indomethacin (10 mg/kg). (300 mg/kg) administered 6 h after induction daily thereafter. sacrificed at 12, 24, 48 assess effect. As result, enhanced lesion decreasing percentage bleeding area attenuating severity histological damage, demonstrated H&E staining. This associated with reduction MPO enzyme activity levels proinflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, maintaining controlled inflammation tissue. Furthermore, increased SOD enzymatic GSH levels, reducing degree oxidative damage tissue, MDA levels. Finally, evaluating apoptosis via immunohistochemistry, shown reduce expression proapoptotic marker Bax increase antiapoptotic Bcl-2. In conclusion, findings suggest may enhance through cytoprotective mechanism controlling exacerbation, stress, regulating apoptosis. These mechanisms are primarily attributed presence pinocembrin, tectochrysin, chrysin, apigenin, naringenin, acacetin, genistein, kaempferol. It important highlight provides preliminary exploration reparative Mexican describing potential action present propolis.

As a traditional Chinese medicine, the adverse hepatotoxicity effects of Pleuropterus multiflorus (Thunb.) Nakai (PM) have been documented. However, nephrotoxicity has neglected as studies related to kidney toxicity mechanisms are limited. Our previous research reported that extract D [95% ethanol (EtOH) elution, PM-D] in 70% EtOH PM showed more significant than other extracts. In current study, PM-D was continuously administered mice for 7 days at dose 2 g/kg (equivalent human 219.8 mg/kg), which increased renal biochemical indexes and caused pathological injury, suggesting toxicity. Therefore, network pharmacology spatially resolved metabolomics were conducted explore underpinning PM-D. Network indicated BCL2, HSP90, ESR1, CTNNB1 genes core targets, while phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B(AKT)/signaling pathway significantly enriched. Spatially heterogeneous metabolite distribution kidney, further indicating nephrotoxic metabolic pathways enriched α-linolenic acid linoleic metabolism, pyrimidine carnitine synthesis, branched-chain fatty oxidation. comprehensive analyses highlighted oxidative stress apoptosis induced by disordered energy lipid metabolism issues, imbalanced nucleotide provide platform into mechanisms.

Maize is a globally important crop. Roots are the main part of maize and mainly used for soil improvement maintaining crop growth as agricultural waste. Their application scope relatively small. It very to analyze components in roots order increase their resource utilization reduce burden waste disposal. Metabolomics shows that contain various bioactive components, such alkaloids, phenolic acids, flavonoids, etc. Therefore, this study explores potential pharmacological effects root metabolites under drought stress from perspective metabolomics combined with network pharmacology. The crude extraction betaine, metabolite stress, was conducted, anti-inflammatory antioxidant extract were evaluated. experimental results DPPH, Fenton, indicate betaine has certain effects, which provides basis its applications fields medicine food. research on extracting medicinal active substances not only economic environmental advantages but also significance promoting technological progress public health.

Gastric ulcer (GU) is a prevalent gastrointestinal disorder impacting millions worldwide, with complex pathogenic mechanisms that may progress to severe illnesses. Conventional therapies relying on anti-secretory agents and antibiotics are constrained by drug abuse increased bacterial resistance, highlighting the urgent need for safer therapeutic alternatives. Natural medicinal compounds, particularly triterpenoids derived from plants herbs, have gained significant attention in recent years due their favorable efficacy reduced toxicity profiles. Emerging evidence indicates exhibit potent anti-ulcer properties across various experimental models, modulating key pathways involved inflammation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, mucosal protection. Integrating current knowledge of these bioactive compounds facilitates development natural triterpenoids, addresses challenges clinical translation, deepens mechanistic understanding GU pathogenesis, drives innovation strategies GU. This review comprehensively evaluates research treatment since 2000, discussing biological sources, structural characteristics, pharmacological activities, action, animal models employed studies, limitations, associated application.
