Atherosclerosis
is
a
condition
that
associated
with
lipid
accumulation
in
the
arterial
intima.
Consequently,
enlarging
lesion,
which
also
known
as
an
atherosclerotic
plaque,
may
close
blood
vessel
lumen,
thus
leading
to
organ
ischaemia.
Furthermore,
plaque
rupture
and
initiate
formation
of
thrombus,
can
cause
acute
background
pathological
eventually
lead
major
cardiovascular
diseases
such
coronary
syndrome
or
ischaemic
stroke.
The
disorder
altered
profile
alarmins,
stress
response
molecules
are
secreted
due
cell
injury
death
induce
inflammatory
responses.
High-mobility
group
box
1
(HMGB1),
S100
proteins,
interleukin-33,
heat
shock
proteins
(HSPs)
affect
behaviour
endothelial
cells
vascular
smooth
muscle
(VSMCs).
Thus,
alarmins
control
responses
proliferation
VSMCs,
two
important
processes
implicated
pathogenesis
atherosclerosis.
In
this
review,
we
will
discuss
role
pathophysiology
atherosclerosis
myocardial
infarction.
