Green husks are the outer layer of walnut fruits. They form part agro-residues discarded away upon nut maturity in industry. Although it is not used, research studies show that green husk a rich source natural bioactive phytochemicals. A total 83 individual phenolic compounds were identified husks, mainly consisting naphthoquinones, flavonols, and hydroxycinnamic acids. There no standard profile walnuts; quantity quality vary by cultivar. Walnut extracts exhibit strong antioxidant activities play an important role plant’s defence mechanisms against diseases, attacking different plant organs. The study provides review content cultivars as documented studies. It also explores application various industries such traditional medicine, textile, wood, leather, beverage, agriculture. In addition, effects on biotic abiotic factors evaluated.

Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a well-known bioactive substance with multiple biological functions, which can be extracted from animal cartilage or bone. Sturgeon, the largest soft bone ~20% content, great candidate for CS production. Our recent study confirmed role of sturgeon chondroitin (SCS) in reducing colorectal cancer cell proliferation and tumor formation. Here, we further studied effect SCS on modulating gut microbiome structure bearing mice. In this study, transplanted mice model was constructed to demonstrate that effectively halt growth cells. Next, showed significantly altered microbiome, such as abundance Lactobacillales, Gastranaerophilales, Ruminiclostridiun_5 Ruminiclostridiun_6. According linear discriminant analysis (LDA) map microbial metabolic pathways, changes led an increase certain metabolites (e.g., Phe, Tyr, Gly). Fecal metabolome results demonstrated reduce amount amino acids Pro, Ala, Tyr Leu presented feces, suggesting might inhibit by altering production acids. revealed therapeutic potential facilitate treatment cancer. This provides insights into development novel food-derived therapies

Abstract BACKGROUND As a complex chronic metabolic disease, obesity not only affects the quality of human life but also increases risk various other diseases. Therefore, it is important to investigate molecular mechanisms and therapeutic effects dietary interventions that counteract obesity. RESULTS In this study, we extracted soluble (SDF) insoluble fiber (IDF) from quinoa bran using an enzymatic method further investigated their on lipid metabolism blood levels in obese rats. Quinoa showed significantly reduced body weight, glucose level, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high‐density lipoprotein low‐density cholesterol compared those model group Aspartate aminotransferase alanine were lower IDF group, demonstrating improved liver injury more than SDF, which was consistent with analysis tissue sections. supplementation oxidation resistance rats by decreasing malondialdehyde increasing superoxide dismutase glutathione peroxidase high‐fat diet levels. Transcriptome caused hepatic changes genes ( Ehhadh , PPARα FADS CPT1 CPT2 SCD‐1 Acadm CYP7A1 ) related fatty acid degradation, result coincided gene expression validation result.

Liver diseases cause millions of deaths globally. Current treatments are often limited in effectiveness and availability, driving the search for alternatives. Herbal preparations offer potential hepatoprotective properties. Disrupted gut microbiota is linked to liver disorders. This scoping review aims explore effects herbal on mechanisms, particularly context non-alcoholic fatty disease (NAFLD), steatohepatitis (NASH), hepatic steatosis, with a focus modulation. A systematic was performed using predetermined keywords four electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, Web Science). total 55 studies were included descriptive analysis, covering study characteristics such as model, dietary animal intervention details, comparators, outcomes. The findings this suggest that closely related their interactions microbiota. mechanisms shown through composition, intestinal barrier, microbial metabolites, which resulted decreased serum levels enzymes lipids, improved pathology, inhibition acid accumulation, suppression inflammation oxidative stress, reduced insulin resistance, altered bile metabolism.
