Potato is an important crop in the Northwest China, however, its production constrained by water scarcity. Plastic mulching film efficient technical measure to alleviate potato restrictions. Therefore, studying response of yield and use efficiency plastic great significance. The study conducted a meta-analysis quantify effect on Northwest. then quantified effects different levels natural conditions (mean annual precipitation, mean accumulated temperature ≥ 10 °C), fertilizer application (nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate potassium fertilizer), cultivation measures (planting density, method, method), properties (mulching color, thickness) through subgroups analysis. Finally, random forest model was used importance factors. increased 27.17% 27.16%, which had better performance under relatively lower low °C, application, planting density 15,000–45,000 plants·ha−1, ridge, black mulching. Natural conditions, fertilization were vital improve productivity. research results can provide reference for agricultural management strategies using China other potato-producing areas.

This study explores agronomic management (AM) effects on soil parameters under diverse conditions. Investigating tillage practices (TP), nutrient (NM), crop rotation (CR), organic matter (OM), irrigation (IM), and mulching (MS), it aims to reveal impacts productivity, availability, microbial activity, overall health. Varied TP affect quality through compaction, porosity, erosion risk. Proper NM is vital for cycling, preventing imbalances acidification. CR disrupts pest cycles, reduces weed pressure, boosts recycling. OM enhances by influencing carbon, pH, fertility, water retention. Optimizing IM regulates content without inducing waterlogging. MS contributes content, retention, structure, temperature-moisture regulation, benefiting biota, aggregation, health agricultural productivity. The review emphasizes integrated nutrient, CR, management's positive impact fertility activity. Different variations production. Judicious implementation of these essential sustainable agriculture. synthesis identifies uncertainties proposes research directions optimizing productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability. Ongoing inquiry can guide a balanced approach between yields resilient stewardship future generations.

The presence of microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) in soils is becoming pervasive most agroecosystems. recent estimates suggest that the soil burden MNPs agroecosystems more than 0.5 megatons (Mt) annually. In all agroecosystems, transformation, migration, transferring MNPs, along with other contaminants, trophic transfer can threaten food web. MPs exhibit negative positive effects, or none, on physical/chemical properties soil, microbiota, invertebrates, plant systems, depending polymer compositions, additives, exposure time. Difficulties comparing studies effects as well discrepancies among them, are mostly due to variations methods followed for sampling, detection, quantification, categorization particles, abundance, Since agricultural important environmental reservoirs diverse chemicals they provide milieus several types interactions biota. present review critically examines sources transformation soils, release fate their role vectors potential contaminants influence properties, toxicities biota (i.e., microorganisms, plants), current regulatory guidelines mitigation future research directions.
