This study investigates the influence of Top Management Team Competencies (TMTCs) and Middle-Tier Managers’ (MMCs) on intention to adopt Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies in Thailand Vietnam. Utilizing a quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data from 100 manufacturing firms reveal critical roles readiness level (RL) perceived usefulness (PU) as mediators these relationships. The findings highlight that while TMTC significantly enhances organizational readiness, its direct impact adoption is non-significant. Conversely, MMC directly influences both PU intention, emphasizing practical role middle management bridging strategic vision operational execution. RL mediates effects I4.0 whereas does not mediate relationship between intention. These insights contribute literature digital transformation, particularly emerging economies, by identifying distinct managerial importance driving adoption. underscores need for tailored competency development among top managers foster successful suggests further research into culture, external support, regional variations.

Prior research has reported mixed findings regarding the relationship between diversification and firm performance, because a strategy produces not only synergies but also anti-synergies. We argue that information technology (IT) can help unlock potential of to enhance performance by maximising its synergistic effect while minimising anti-synergistic effect. Using sample publicly listed Chinese firms on Shanghai or Shenzhen Stock Exchange, we find IT investment positively moderates performance. Investing in contributes greater coordination, control, exchange, cross-business knowledge sharing, which mitigate Furthermore, moderating is stronger for related than unrelated diversification, indicating need when undertaking (vs unrelated) diversification.
