Abstract Sustainable product development is becoming essential to meet market, but also climate challenges. However, this problematic mainly because of the need make many complex decisions at early stages development. Due limited research in area, aim was analyse approach companies sustainable when designing new products and improving already on market. This considered according key aspects development, i.e.: quality (customer satisfaction with use), environment (impact life cycle), society (changes social environment) cost. Pilot studies were conducted among manufacturing companies. These surveys a Likert scale, which following verified: i) frequency actions taken regarding verified aspects, ii) degree these into account during It shown, for example, that most frequently undertaken are those related costs, then quality, slightly less often, society. A similar phenomenon observed case activities, additionally confirmed by results statistical analysis sign test STATISTICA program. This manuscript explores the relationship between economic awareness (as a part of energy awareness) Polish households and their sustainable consumption practices. Sustainable is measured by frequency behaviors such as turning off electrical devices when not in use, removing mobile device chargers from sockets, switching lights leaving room, preferring showers over baths, using washing machines dishwashers only full, purchasing energy-efficient appliances light bulbs. Economic gauged through variables knowledge electricity tariffs, understanding electric bill components, prices, exact expenses, usage kWh, effective energy-saving methods, familiarity with efficiency classes study presents profiles high low regarding expenditures examines how these differ behaviors. research based on survey 1407 conducted online 2023. Data collected were subjected to statistical analysis are presented tables graphs. The findings discussed context existing literature field, highlighting implications contributes influences among households, providing insights for policymakers conservation initiatives. One key this paper significant association awareness, knowledge, adoption households. reveals that higher levels demonstrate notably practices related compared those lower awareness. Similarly, equipped greater about techniques exhibit propensity adopt underscores important roles literacy education fostering behavioral changes towards more practices, importance targeted interventions educational campaigns aimed at enhancing promoting consumers.

The rapid urbanization and technological advancements of the recent decades have increased need for efficient sustainable transportation solutions. This study examines acceptance smart systems (STSs) among residents in Polish cities explores impact these on energy-saving behaviors. Using extended Unified Theory Acceptance Use Technology (UTAUT2) model, which includes propensity to save energy, this research seeks understand determinants STS adoption. primary was conducted using Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI). sample controlled gender place residence. A 471 individuals meeting criteria living a city with over 200,000 solutions Poland were selected from panel. SmartPLS 4 software used analyze collected data. findings reveal that energy significantly influences perceived usefulness, ease use, social influence, hedonic motivation toward STSs. Perceived usefulness use found be strong predictors intention STSs, while costs had negative it. also identified moderating role personal innovativeness mitigating cost concerns. These insights underscore importance emphasizing conservation benefits user-friendly features promoting concludes aligning innovations user motivations can enhance adoption solutions, contributing smarter more urban environments.
