We developed a green method to create 2-amino-4H-chromenes in an environmentally-friendly and efficient way. The process uses domino Knoevenagel-Michael cyclocondensation reaction. Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (THAM) recyclable biodegradable organobase catalyst is used aqueous ethanol media, the reaction done at room temperature. Several criteria for sustainable chemistry are met by current protocol's many benefits, which include being energy-efficient; reusable, affordable, readily available precursor substances; operational simplicity; suitable quick procedure; high yields; solvent; direct work-up without column chromatographic separation; atom-economy. In addition, THAM stayed stable could be five times reducing catalytic activity, making it great solving environmental issues meeting industry needs.
