The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has presented numerous challenges to public health, including the emergence of subjective dry eye symptoms among individuals. However, there is currently a dearth comprehensive knowledge regarding associated factors with in general population.A nationwide survey China was carried out from 20 June 31 August 2022, involving 21 916 participants. Subjective were assessed using Ocular Surface Disease Index-6. We employed random forest classification select potential based on socioecological model. also conducted univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses explore symptoms. Corneal neuropathy involves corneal nerve damage that disrupts ocular surface integrity, negatively impacting quality-of-life from pain and impaired vision. Any or systemic condition damages the trigeminal can lead to neuropathy. However, currently does not have standardized diagnostic criteria treatment protocols. The primary aim of this systematic review was evaluate efficacy safety interventions for treating Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigated treatments were eligible if intervention(s) compared a placebo active comparator. Comprehensive searches conducted in Ovid MEDLINE, Embase clinical trial registries inception July 2022. Cochrane Risk-of-Bias 2 tool used assess study methodological quality. Certainty body evidence assessed using Grading Recommendations Assessment, Development Evaluation (GRADE) approach. Overall, 20 RCTs included. Evaluated comprised regenerative therapies (n = 6 studies), dietary supplements 4), anti-glycemic agents 3), combination therapy supportive 2) pharmacotherapies 2). Nine judged at high risk bias most outcomes. Definitions populations varied substantially across studies, consistent with lack consensus on criteria. A diverse range outcomes quantified, likely reflecting absence an agreed core outcome set. To conduct a review of the literature in order to identify potential association between physical activity or exercise and objective signs and/or subjective symptoms dry-eye disease.A PubMed Web Science databases was performed, according PRISMA guidelines. The papers included addressed relationship with associated (changes tear volume, osmolarity biochemical composition) symptoms.A total 16 were included. In eight, changes film composition studied after single, acute bout aerobic exercise. another relation habitual practice prescribed programmes. Acute responses included: a) an increase without break-up time; b) trend osmolarity, although within its physiological range; c) reduced concentration several cytokines, other molecular markers inflammation oxidative stress. Long-term exposure programmes relief increased time.Despite high heterogeneity population, study designs methods, current body evidence suggests role for as modulatory stimulus proper functioning symptoms.

Aging is a process often associated with various age-related diseases.Senescence one of the hallmarks aging, and senescent cells acquire complex, pro-inflammatory, secretory phenotype termed senescence-associated (SASP).Here, we show that ocular surface from human cornea become upon X-irradiation, characterized by increased β-galactosidase activity, decreased cell proliferation, expression p16, disruption epithelial barrier.Comprehensive transcriptomic proteomic analysis revealed (SOCs) an SASP disrupts barrier function.During aging in mice, SOCs accumulate, resulting chronic inflammation.Lacrimal gland excision, which leads to symptoms dry eye (DE), resulted corneal opacity severe angiogenesis only aged mice but not young early senolytic treatment protected old DE opacity. In conclusion, alter microenvironment through their eliminating these could represent potential approach alleviate surface.
