Public sub-health has emerged as a pressing concern in densely populated urban areas. The environment, with its innate ability to modulate public emotions, harbors precious resource the form of rivers, which provide serene and verdant space. This study focuses on Liangma River Chaoyang District, Beijing, selecting two rivers diverse landscape features subjects research. By employing physiological feedback data conjunction subjective questionnaire, emotional impact high-density riverside spaces individuals is quantitatively analyzed. Electrocardiogram (ECG) data, eye movement positive–negative emotion scale (PANAS) are subjected analysis. reveals following key findings: (1) areas exerts positive influence well-being. Individuals more natural river settings experience greater levels contentment relaxation, while those higher proportion artificial elements exhibit increased excitement happiness. Moreover, scenes characterized by degree greening have pronounced soothing effect mood. (2) A specific correlation between visual characteristics fluctuations observed. waterfront side trail stronger spatial attraction, blue green significantly contributes stress relief. (3) utilization human-induced engineering technology, captures changes through feedback, demonstrates level accuracy well-suited for small-scale studies. These findings highlight potential arranging types footpath landscapes approaching design transformation from novel perspective centered health intervention. Such efforts hold promise alleviating daily pressures faced general fostering development “healthy city”.

Exposure to natural environments offers an array of mental health benefits. Virtual reality provides simulated experiences being in nature when outdoor access is limited. Previous studies on virtual have focused mainly single "doses" nature. The effects repeated exposure remain poorly understood. Motivated by this gap, we studied the influence a daily intervention symptoms anxiety, depression, and underlying cause poor health: rumination. Forty college students (58% non-Hispanic White, median age = 19) were recruited from two U.S. universities randomly assigned or control group. Over several weeks, anxious arousal (panic) apprehension (worry) decreased with exposure. Participants identifying as women, past VR users, experienced outdoors, engaged beauty benefited particularly strongly did not help anhedonic depression Further research necessary distinguish for whom interventions impact outcomes.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore from a place attachment (PA) theory perspective the extent which and how, fully immersive virtual reality (VR) experience enhances tourists’ level on-site at rural destination. Design/methodology/approach This applied an exploratory mixed method approach. Respondents were tourists visiting Lake District National Park who asked try VR experience. In Study 1, interviews conducted new themes develop enhanced PA framework in VR. 1 confirmed existing variables literature highlighted (themes) be included on how formed. 2, surveys conducted, proposed analyzed using structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The present study investigated how self-reported frequency of is associated use strategies explored mediating role connectedness (i.e., connection to nature) moderating engagement natural beauty. Employing mediation moderated analyses, in a cross-sectional sample 2097 young adults aged 18-35 years old (M = 24.01, SD 4.80) residing urban China, we obtained three major findings. First, mediated associations direct/indirect cognitive reappraisal as well expressive suppression. Second, beauty path from models. Third, indirect Our first reveal factors relationships among nature, connectedness, beauty, strategies. These findings provide support for health have implications nature-based education planning.

Addressing the emotional needs of elderly in urban space design has increasingly become a vital concern. This study innovatively integrates theories with community outdoor spaces, thereby expanding research on categorization spaces. At 8 sites Yi Jie Qu, China, 330 residents were randomly recruited to assess their color responses (CER) landscapes these Based Affective Circumplex Model and Japanese Color Image Theory, Emotion was constructed visually represent overall tendencies significant positive emotions elderly. The second innovation this lies exploring driving factors behind elderly, primary user group We analyzed differences CER between autumn winter scenes, employing variance analysis, correlation, regression investigate substantial effects individual characteristics CER. discovered that exhibit stronger towards clean healthy emotions. Notably, more pronounced scenes compared winter. Furthermore, educational level, visit frequency, brightness positively influenced CER, whereas walking time from residence area ratios blue gray negatively impacted These findings not only provide theoretical basis for age-friendly but also offer new perspectives practical guidance international planning domain. Our underscores importance incorporating into design, offering novel future design.
