Regional integration, as an essential measurement for solving unbalanced and uncoordinated regional development, plays important role in achieving sustainable development. In this study, we aimed to construct a systematic research framework facilitate the development of integration. Using 31 prefecture-level cities urban agglomeration Middle Reaches Yangtze River (MYR-UA) case sites, study applied box plots, kernel density estimation, GIS visualization tools, Markov chains, geographic detectors reveal dynamic spatiotemporal evolution factors influencing integration from 2009 2018. The results indicate that level its subsystem is suboptimal MYR-UA; temporal characteristic shows upward fluctuating trend, spatial distribution remarkable correlation clustering characteristics. Additionally, found MYR-UA has both “path dependence” “self-locking” effects, lag type crucial impact on degree transfer stability. dominant affecting include GDP per capita, economic openness, industrial structure, proportion education expenditure fiscal expenditure, urbanization rate, environmental investment population density, capital flow, information technology flow. Finally, based findings policy recommendations promoting are proposed.

The interaction between urbanization and ecosystem services (ESs) is a hot topic in the modern human-earth system science. Currently, most studies only focus on effects of ESs supply, few have accurately quantified demand explored spatial–temporal coupling interactions supply–demand balance. To address these gaps, this study used process-based modeling to estimate absolute number demand. Ecosystem ratio (ESDR) employed measure Finally, pearson correlation analysis, coordination degree model, bivariate local Moran's I method were explore interactive relationship balance Loess Plateau (LP). Results indicated that LP experienced rapid with characteristics faster economic than land population from 2000 2018. Negative correlations construction proportion ESDR enhanced over time. Although increased, counties mild incoordination basic coordination. spatial was divided into four types: co-promotion type, ecological lag co-loss type. This can contribute providing scientific reference practical guidance for coordinating protection high-quality development underdeveloped areas.
