The escalating pace of migration and urbanization in Nepal has triggered profound alterations land use practices. This event resulted a considerable diminution ecological diversity substantial decline the potential for carbon sequestration other ecosystem services, thereby impeding climate change mitigation efforts. To address this, comprehensive assessment storage was conducted from 2000 to 2019 forecasted 2050 Nepal. Employing Markov chain InVEST models, this study evaluated loss gain carbon, elucidating its economic value spatial distribution. findings revealed that were 1.237 1.271 billion tons, respectively, with projected increase 1.347 million tons by 2050. Carbon between amounted 34.141 which is anticipated surge 76.07 2050, translating valuations 110.909 378.645 USD, respectively. Forests emerged as pivotal storage, exhibiting higher pooling than types, expanding 37% 42% total area predicted year Notably, distribution concentrated parts terai mountain regions, alongside significant portions hilly terrain. offer valuable insights governing REDD+ developing implementing forest management policies. results emphasize importance providing incentives local communities judiciously promote effective conservation measures.

Wetlands in the arid zone of northwest China have ecological values such as climate regulation, water conservation, and biodiversity maintenance. However, context global warming economic development, degree natural human interference wetlands has been increasing, wetland health problems are becoming increasingly severe. The current comparative research on ecosystem evaluation constructed their sustainable development is not perfect, so we selected (Dunhuang Xihu Wetland) (Suzhou District objects. system developed from 5 levels drive, pressure, state, impact, response (DPSIR). status impact factors were evaluated for two using socioeconomic data combined with remote sensing technology 2000 to 2019. results showed that 1) was a medium healthy trend decreasing then increasing 2019, 2005 turning point. (0.46) better than (0.42). 2) main reasons degradation (-3.20%) urban population expansion blind agricultural reclamation wetlands, while (-6.45%) dominated by extreme climatic conditions overuse resources. These provide case support theoretical basis conservation management ecosystems zone.

Urban ecosystems play a crucial role in providing wide range of services to their inhabitants, and functioning is deeply intertwined with the effects climate change. The present review explores dynamic interplay between urban ecosystem change, highlighting reciprocal relationships, impacts, adaptation strategies associated these phenomena. environment, its built infrastructure, green spaces, diverse human activities, offers various that enhance wellbeing resilience dwellers. offer regulatory like temperature control, air quality upkeep, stormwater management, plus provisioning food water. They also provide cultural benefits, promoting recreation community unity. However, change poses significant challenges services. Rising temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, increased frequency extreme weather events can disrupt ecosystems, impacting provision Heatwaves heat island compromise health energy demands, while changes rainfall patterns strain management systems lead flooding. Moreover, biodiversity ecological processes, affecting overall sustainability ecosystems. To address challenges, cities are adopting recognize interdependence Green infrastructure interventions, such as creation parks, roofs, gardens, aim mitigate impacts by enhancing regulation temperature, improving quality, reducing runoff. Additionally, planning design approaches prioritize compact walkable neighborhoods, public transportation reliance on fossil fuels. Furthermore, engaging communities measures for ensuring equitable distribution building social resilience. Therefore, article highlights comprehensive understanding interrelationship implications. By recognizing integrating contributions develop sustainable resilient adapt habitability environments future generations.
