Microplastics (MPs) are emerging contaminants that have harmful effects on ecosystems. Microalgae important primary producers in aquatic environments, providing nutrients for various organisms. These microorganisms may be affected by MPs. Therefore, it is to investigate the toxicity aspects of different MPs Chlorella species. Abstract The extensive use of synthetic polymers in our everyday lives has resulted significant plastic pollution. Superabsorbent (SAPs) are yet another class anthropogenic materials with uncertain environmental implications. SAPs, like polyacrylates (PAA) or polyacrylamides (PAM), find applications personal care products, construction, wastewater treatment, agriculture and soil remediation. However, when SAPs enter the soil, weathering may change their intended properties, potentially forming plastic-like solid residues over time. This review aims to evaluate current scientific understanding application fate focusing on processes driving potential transformation into residues. We explore analytical techniques for qualitative quantitative characterization SAP Our research provides first insights mechanisms conditions governing aging transformation, advancing impact properties functioning. There specific knowledge gaps regarding influence climate soil. To facilitate future research, we suggest scrutinizing relevant field, critically (re)evaluating establishing robust monitoring methods.

Bioplastics have entered everyday life as a potential sustainable substitute for commodity plastics. However, still further progress should be made to clarify their degradation behavior under controlled and uncontrolled conditions. The wide array of biopolymers commercial blends available make predicting the biodegradation degree kinetics quite complex issue that requires specific knowledge multiple factors affecting process. This paper summarizes main scientific literature on anaerobic digestion biodegradable plastics through general bibliographic analysis more detailed discussion results from relevant experimental studies. critical data initially included 275 references, which were then screened duplication/pertinence/relevance. references analyzed derive some features research profile, trends, evolution in field bioplastics. second stage involved extracting about bioplastic degradability conditions by screening analytical performance different types products conditions, with particular emphasis most recent data.
