This review article focuses on the potential of biopolymer-based nanocomposites incorporating nanoparticles, graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and nanoclays in adsorption membrane filtration processes for water treatment. The aim is to explore effectiveness these innovative materials addressing scarcity contamination issues. highlights exceptional capacities improved performance offered by chitosan, GO, CNTs, which make them effective removing heavy metals, organic pollutants, emerging contaminants from water. It also emphasizes high surface area ion exchange capacity nanoclays, enabling removal contaminants, dyes. Integrating magnetic (Fe2O4) adsorbents technologies highlighted enhance separation efficiency. limitations challenges associated are discussed. concludes emphasizing importance collaboration with industry stakeholders advancing sustainable comprehensive treatment solutions.
