The declining water bodies' pristine characteristics due to the entry of emerging pollutants (EP) have been a growing concern for past two decades. In context effort that has made remove EP from matrices, adsorption processes are economically attractive and feasible removal. Among commonly mentioned low-cost adsorbents (natural materials, agriculture industrial wastes, sewage sludge or treatment residuals), this review discusses applicability drinking residuals (DWTR) removal hormones. DWTR widely reported as being effective in phosphate, heavy metals, dyes. However, there is still lack knowledge on their application adsorbent hormones, such estrone (E1), 17β-estradiol (E2) 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2) matrices. sole study conducted topic, which involved comprehensive characterization process hormones using non-modified DWTR, indicates maximum capacity 8.748 μg/g E2 14.557 EE2. Furthermore, some studies refer powdered activated carbon- (PAC-DWTR) new category with possible availability carbon (PAC) be further explored. Finally, should always supported not only by standard toxic leaching procedures but also ecotoxicological assessments. Nonetheless, upcycling into an material may offer ways manage former residue sector provide alternatives

Abstract Milk, as a widely consumed nutrient‐rich food, is crucial for bone health, growth, and overall nutrition. The persistent application of veterinary drugs controlling diseases heightening milk yield has imparted substantial repercussions on human health environmental ecosystems. Due to the high demand, fresh consumption, complex composition milk, potential adverse impacts drug residues, advanced greener analytical methods are necessitated. Among them, functional materials‐based attract wide concerns. magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs), kind typical material, possess excellent greenification characteristics potencies, they easily integrated into various detection technologies, which have offered green approaches toward analytes such in milk. Despite their increasing applications great potential, MMIPs’ use dairy matrices remains underexplored, especially regarding ecological sustainability. This work reviews recent advances synthesis efficient sorbents extraction followed by chromatographic analysis. uniqueness effectiveness MMIPs real samples evaluated, current limitations addressed, opportunities proposed. show promise revolutionizing procedures detection, aligning with goals modern food production systems.
