Abstract A doubly mononuclear cobalt(II) complex [Co(Hpmt) 2 (N 3 ) ] ( 1 (Hpmt = 2-(2-pyridylmethylamino)ethanesulfonic acid; N azide anion) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis showed that crystallized in orthorhombic crystal system, Cmc space group. In the two independent identical complexes, centers are both hexa-coordinated distorted CoN 6 octahedrons. The reduced Schiff base ligand Hpmt displayed a new coordination mode of bidentate chelate κ - , ′). careful comparisons between upon as free acid form demonstrated conformation flexibility might be responsible for its multiple modes. N–H⋯O C–H⋯N hydrogen bonds constructed 3D network, this mainly agreed with Hirshfeld surface results.

Abstract A novel zinc(II) polymer based on pyridine sulfonyl amino acid, namely [Zn(HL)(H 2 O) ] n ·4H O ( 1 ) (HL=(1-carboxylato-2-hydroxypropyl)(pyridin-3-sulfonyl)-threonine), was synthesized by reacting Zn(NO 3 ·6H with H L in a mixed solvent solution of MeCN/EtOH/H under acidic conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the crystallized trigonal system, space group P 21. Notably, unit cell as-formed contains only one crystallographically independent ion, and divalent anion ligand HL adopts coordination pattern η :η :μ . The central ions are connected bridging through pyridyl nitrogen carboxy oxygen atoms to form an infinite helix chain. Furthermore, numerous hydrogen bonds were observed among these chains, joining them into 2D supramolecular network. Finally, complex is stacked along helical axis yield three-dimensional structure. Additionally, thermal stability photoluminescence properties determined discussed.
