Abstract The intriguing effect of metal ions and biomolecules on various biological entities warrants developing selective sensitive fluorescent chemosensors in water other organic solvents. A review comparable literature related areas, including material chemistry, environmental science, supramolecular indicates that most the research work is carried out varying types existing chemosensor explores use solvents, DMSO/H₂O, methanol, DMF/HEPES systems, photoinduced electron transfer (PET)‐based chemosensors. ABSTRACT A salamo‐type biscompartmental ligand was successfully prepared. On this basis, two novel pentanuclear zinc (II) complexes possessing solvent effect were self‐assembled with different salts: [Zn 5 (L) 2 ( μ ‐OAc) (CH 3 COCH )] 1 ) and CN)] ).
