Abstract The intriguing effect of metal ions and biomolecules on various biological entities warrants developing selective sensitive fluorescent chemosensors in water other organic solvents. A review comparable literature related areas, including material chemistry, environmental science, supramolecular indicates that most the research work is carried out varying types existing chemosensor explores use solvents, DMSO/H₂O, methanol, DMF/HEPES systems, photoinduced electron transfer (PET)‐based chemosensors. DMSO DMF are strong polar solvents resulting fluorescence emission. Additionally, dichlorobenzene chlorobenzene employed to form gels with urea compounds, further improving sensor's functionality selectivity. Also, parallel investigations, when as a solvent, revealed decrease binding/ detection ability guest analytes since molecules strongly solvated (hydrated) moieties, whereas non‐polar (or amphiphilic molecules) found aggregations or self‐assemblies. present attempts analyze characterize water‐soluble (FCHs) into cyclic acyclic per their topological structural architectures. In addition, seminal examples synthetic FCHs, included herein, provide an understanding rational designs, fundamental properties, interactions, emerging switchable properties aqueous medium. Thus, knowledge these high affinity selectivity would facilitate synthesis novel FCHs potential future applications.

ABSTRACT A mono‐salamo‐type ligand H 2 L was prepared to utilize 3‐methoxysalicylaldehyde and a semi‐salamo‐type compound, its novel trinuclear Ni(II) cluster with two significantly various configurations in the solid state obtained by reaction of ions. The structure validated x‐ray technique, ions exhibited hexa‐coordinated twisted octahedrons. Its structural formula is [Ni 3 (L) ( μ ‐Cl) (EtOH) ]. Chloride have also successfully double bridged participate coordination, play critical impact configuration's stability charge balance. Two solvent ethanol molecules are participated coordination. coordination ratio metal ion verified be 2:3 UV–Vis absorption titration spectroscopy. HOMO LUMO energies frontline molecular orbitals complex were analyzed DFT calculations, energy gap value 4.29 eV, that 0.72 eV. combined decreased produced more active complex. Furthermore, Hirshfeld surface analysis visualizes weak interactions crystalline molecules, these abundant an especially effect supramolecular self‐assembling. fluorescent researches proclaimed fluorescence intensity compared ligand, suggesting this greater promise for sensing.

ABSTRACT A salamo‐type biscompartmental ligand was successfully prepared. On this basis, two novel pentanuclear zinc (II) complexes possessing solvent effect were self‐assembled with different salts: [Zn 5 (L) 2 ( μ ‐OAc) (CH 3 COCH )] 1 ) and CN)] ). Complex contains fully deprotonated 4− units, five Zn(II) atoms, coordinating acetate anions, one acetone molecule. The atoms are all in a slightly distorted triangular bipyramidal geometrical configurations. consists of anions acetonitrile structures the self‐assembling may be attributed to various effects applied self‐assembly. As result, involved bridging coordination, thereby expanding distance between secondary building units (SBUs). In addition, polar nonprotonic solvents, especially molecules, coordination process. Finally, reaction sites intermolecular interactions further discussed by MEP, IRI, Hirshfeld surfaces, their fluorescence properties explored.
