Abstract In this study, we aimed to enhance the photocatalytic performance of molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ) thin films by doping with silver (Ag) via a spray pyrolysis technique. The primary objective for incorporation was intended introduce additional energy levels into band structure MoO , improving its efficiency. Structural, optical, and properties were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) optical spectroscopy. XRD results confirmed an orthorhombic phase (040) preferential orientation all samples. Optimal crystallinity observed 2% Ag doping, yielding 84 nm crystallite size, while higher reduced size. Band gap narrowed from 3.07 eV (undoped) 2.94 (2% Ag-doped), indicating electronic changes. Impedance spectroscopy revealed superior electrical at 4% enhancing charge transport. Photocatalytic performance, assessed dye degradation, showed significant improvement degradation rate peaking Ag. These demonstrate that optimizes structural films, leading enhanced activity.
