With the rapid advancement of science and technology, along with an increasing global focus on space exploration, there is a growing concern for addressing friction wear issues in surface coatings components operating high-temperature environments within aerospace sector. However, typical currently face challenges effectively integrating excellent oxidation resistance, lubrication properties settings. Studies have demonstrated significant potential Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDCs) as lubricant additives lubrication, attributable to their distinctive crystal structures. Thus, this review concentrates compositional design individual MX2-type (M = W, Mo, Nb, Ta; X S, Se) TMDCs (molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), tungsten (WS2), niobium diselenide (NbSe2), molybdenum (MoSe2), (WSe2)) composites, including inorganic oxygen-containing sulfides, explores utilization self-lubricating coatings. Furthermore, conventional preparation methods (mechanical exfoliation, liquid-phase ultrasonic chemical vapour deposition) synthesizing are outlined. Finally, analysis mechanism provided, future directions enhancing performance composite

This study analysed the condition of surface layer valve stems made 317Ti steel after polishing and burnishing. Surface roughness, microhardness, residual stress tests were carried out. The out to determine effect (especially non-standard parameters roughness) on durability valves possibility obtaining a favourable state by means sliding Significant differences observed in values roughness that tribological properties surface, higher microhardness compressive stresses obtained stem-graphite seal reciprocating movement was tested, failure-free operation time with burnished approximately four times longer, which is premise for recommending diamond burnishing as finishing treatment stems.

Purpose This paper aims to study the synergistic lubrication effects of Sn–Ag–Cu and MXene–Ti 3 C 2 improve tribological properties M50 bearing steel with microporous channels. Design/methodology/approach matrix self-lubricating composites (MMSC) were designed prepared by filling in channels steel. The tribology performance testing as-prepared samples was executed a multifunction tribometer. optimum hole size lubricant content, as well mechanism MMSC, studied. Findings MMSC are strongly dependent on effect Sn–Ag–Cu. When microchannel is 1 mm content mixed 4 wt.%, shows lowest friction coefficient wear rate. extruded from spread interface, relatively complete lubricating film formed at interface. Meanwhile, can stability film, thus excellent property obtained. Originality/value results help deep understanding work also provides useful reference for design mechanical components combining surface texture solid lubrication. Understanding lubrication at the nanoscale is essential for reducing friction. While alkanes, primary component in most lubricants, have been studied their molecular structure’s impact on rheology and behavior when confined by solid surfaces, influence of confining surface texture remains underexplored. This research uses dynamics simulations to investigate rheological thin film between various patterned rough surfaces. The study focuses sinusoidal, sawtooth, squaretooth wave-patterned using hexadecane as lubricant. examine effects under different normal loads shear rates. Surface patterns significantly formation structure crystalline bridges, depending rates loads. sawtooth exhibits highest viscosity low load rate conditions, forming bridges with a orientation perpendicular direction. exhibit lowest viscosities due nematic order molecules aligned shearing sinusoidal shows intermediary disordered bridge groups formed random orientation. provided pattern persists across including both transitory steady states, high loads, over wide range However, difference reduced higher provides valuable insights designing nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) other applications where boundary conditions are critical lubrication.
