Abstract Background This study aims to investigate the relationship between vitamin B1 intake and cognitive function in older adults. Methods cross-sectional observational utilized data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011–2014. A total of 2422 participants were included analysis, with dietary being determined by averaging two 24-h recalls. Cognitive was assessed using three tests: Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST) for processing speed, Animal Fluency (AFT) executive function, a Consortium Establish Registry Alzheimer's disease (CERAD) subtest memory. Test-specific global cognition z score created. Multivariate linear regression models used explore association function. Results participants, aged 60 years older, NHANES across survey cycles (2011–2014). Higher associated higher DSST, AFT scores (P < 0.001) as well = 0.008).
