Abstract This paper proposes a new chattering‐free Fixed‐time Observer‐Based Sliding Mode Control (FOBSMC) scheme for synchronization of two bilateral teleoperations under unknown time‐varying delay. The system is subjected to disturbances which are estimated in fixed time by utilizing the Disturbance Observer‐based SMC scheme. fixed‐time State designed estimate unmeasured velocity state, while position state assumed be available. stability method used provide convergence independently initial states. A FOBSMC first master teleoperation delay track environmental torque human operating presence communication channel, as well estimating and synchronize slave analysis performed closed‐loop combined controller‐observer using Lyapunov theory. efficacy proposed fulfill good transparency delays tested performing numerical simulation Simulink/MATLAB.

This paper studies a boundary control problem of 1-D flexible beam. The objective is to design an efficient controller suppress the undesired vibration beam with restricted input. A novel developed and stabilize system. effect input can be mitigated by employing smooth hyperbolic tangent function proposed in this not only avoid spillover phenomenon, but also guarantee asymptotic stability closed-loop numerical results are finally illustrated validate effectiveness our methodology.
