Aim Previously, neuroimaging studies on comorbid Posttraumatic-Major depression disorder (PTSD-MDD) comorbidity found abnormalities in multiple brain regions among patients. Recent have revealed dynamic nature human activity during resting state, and entropy as an indicator of regularity may provide a new perspective for studying function PTSD-MDD During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been significant increase number patients with PTSD-MDD. We decided to conduct research resting-state functional who developed this period using entropy. Methods Thirty three 36 matched TCs were recruited. PTSD symptoms assessed clinical scales. All subjects underwent magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans. And (BEN) maps calculated BEN mapping toolbox. A two-sample t -test was used compare differences between group TC group. Furthermore, correlation analysis conducted changes Results Compared TCs, had reduced right middle frontal orbital gyrus (R_MFOG), left putamen, inferior gyrus, opercular part (R_IFOG). higher R_MFOG related CAPS HAMD-24 scores Conclusion The results showed that is potential marker showing symptom severity comorbidity. Consequently, basal ganglia which are emotional dysregulation cognitive deficits.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is applied to the primary motor cortex (M1) for treatment of different movement disorders like Writer's Cramp (WC), Essential tremor (ET), and Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA). However, benefits vary, ranging from no effect significant improvement in tremor. The variation obtained rTMS might be due difference spread stimuli across brain areas associated with can evaluated by combining resting state functional resonance imaging (rsfMRI). To determine low frequency WC, ET SCA after M1. rsfMRI was collected participants WC (n = 27), 30) 28) at two time points, i.e., before delivery 1 Hz rTMS. Two measures dynamic systems theory were calculated understand how system interacts exogenously input (rTMS), namely entropy frustration. While disorder series, frustration quantifies it assessing change sign (positive negative, vice-versa) connections. quantities outlined perturbation For a dense architecture connections facilitated bilateral five regions namely- frontal (frontal-Mid Sup), (supplemental area, precentral- postcentral gyrus), parietal (precuneus), subcortical (caudate, thalamus, posterior mid-cingulate cortex) cerebellum (Crus-I II, Cerebellum III VI, Vermis VI). ET, though belong above-mentioned 5 regions, narrower (i.e., lesser region). SCA, sparse connection between led minimal propagation cerebellar regions. Interestingly three disorders, reduced disorderliness (frustration entropy) neural circuit (motor, regions) but increased default mode network (frontal regions). (due TMS on M1) varies disorders. current protocol achieves wider not SCA. Findings present study suggest that pathology-specific protocols are required

Abstract Based on the fluctuations ensembled over neighbouring neurons, blood oxygen level‐dependent (BOLD) signal is a mesoscale measurement of brain signals. Intraregional temporal features (IRTFs) BOLD signal, extracted from regional neural activities, are utilized to investigate how functions in local areas. This literature highlights four types IRTFs and their representative calculations including variability domain, frequency entropy, intrinsic timescales, which tightly related cognitions. In brain‐wide spatial organization, these generally organized into two hierarchies, reflecting structural constraints dynamics hierarchical functional processing workflow brain. Meanwhile, organization gives rise link between neuronal properties cognitive performance. Disrupted or unbalanced conditions emerge with suboptimal states, improved our understanding aging process and/or neuropathology disease. review concludes that important system should be considered manner.

Pain is a multidimensional subjective experience sustained by multiple brain regions involved in different aspects of pain experience. We used entropy (BEN) estimated from resting-state fMRI (rsfMRI) data to investigate the neural correlates BEN was rs-fMRI provided two datasets with age range: Human Connectome Project-Young Adult (HCP-YA) and project-Aging (HCP-A) datasets. Retrospective assessment experienced intensity retrieved both No main effect observed. The interaction between age, however, related increased several pain-related regions, reflecting greater variability spontaneous activity. Dividing sample into young adult group (YG) middle age-aging (MAG) resulted divergent patterns pain-BEN association: In YG, reduced sensory processing pain; MAG, associated areas cognitive
