Groundwater is essential for man's well-being and survival imperative promoting public health. A wide range of groundwater quality studies have been conducted globally. However, there no categorical study that specifically synthesizes the sources factors threaten in country. This considered 15 countries. The review showed globally systems are predominantly contaminated with microorganisms, heavy metals, trace elements, organic compounds, agrochemicals (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane/1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)ethane (DDT) dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE)). Though matter levels less studied groundwater, it also poses debilitating health risks including bladder, rectum, colon cancers. Geologic processes lithological pedological factors, climate change, environmentally-unfriendly agricultural activities, poor sanitation practices landfill management most dominant impact quality. Based on these, required realistic implementable policies regulations related to protection formulated enforced. Also, sited properly reduce anthropogenic impacts likely occurrence adverse effects.

Saltwater intrusion in the coastal areas of Bangladesh is a prevalent phenomenon. However, it not conducive to activities such as irrigation, navigation, fish spawning and shelter, industrial usage. The present study analyzed 45 water samples collected from 15 locations during three seasons: monsoon, pre-monsoon, post-monsoon. aim was comprehend seasonal variation physicochemical parameters, including temperature, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, concentrations Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Fe2+, HCO3-, PO43-, SO42-, Cl-. Additionally, parameters essential for agriculture, soluble sodium percentage (SSP), absorption ratio (SAR), magnesium (MAR), residual carbonate (RSC), Kelly's (KR), permeability index (PI), were examined. Their respective values found be 63%, 16.83 mg/L, 34.92 145.44 1.28 89.29%. integrated quality determined using entropy theory principal component analysis (PCA). resulting (EWQI) SAR 49.56% respectively, indicated that are suitable drinking but unsuitable irrigation. These findings can assist policymakers implementing Deltaplan-2100, focusing on sustainable land management, cultivation, agricultural production, environmental preservation, resource protection deltaic Bangladesh. This research contributes deeper understanding variations hydrochemistry rivers, aiding comprehension salinity origins, mechanisms, causes.
