Background: The treatment of hypertensive nephropathy has remained unchanged for many years. Salvianolate is the main active component extracted from Salvia Miltiorrhiza. current studies seem to suggest that salvianolate a certain therapeutic effect on nephropathy. Objective: purpose this meta-analysis evaluate and safety under condition standardized use valsartan. Methods: We conducted systematic search (unlimited initial date 22 October 2022) in PubMed, Web Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data knowledge service platform, Science Technology Journal Database, Biomedical Literature Service System. Searching study Two reviewers independently included met inclusion criteria, data, evaluated quality study. RevMan5.4 stata15 software meta-analysis. GRADEprofiler 3.2.2 evidence assessment. Results: This seven (525 patients). Compared with valsartan combined conventional treatment, can further improve efficacy (RR = 1.28, 95%CI:1.17 1.39), reduce blood pressure [systolic (MD 8.98, 95%CI:-12.38 -5.59); diastolic 5.74, 95%CI:-7.20 -4.29)], serum creatinine -17.32, 95%CI:-20.55 -14.10), urea nitrogen -1.89, 95%CI:-3.76 -0.01), urine microalbumin -23.90, 95%CI:-26.54 -21.26), urinary protein ratio -1.92, 95%CI:-2.15 -1.69), cystatin C -1.04, 95%CI: -1.63 -0.45) increase calcitonin gene-related peptide 18.68, 95%CI:12.89 24.46) without increasing adverse reactions 2.20, 95%CI:0.52 9.40). But it no additional endothelin-1 malondialdehyde. ranged moderate very low. Conclusion: shows renal function patients based was used. Therefore, be used as clinical supplement However, not high due uneven insufficient sample size, we still need lot large size more perfect design confirm these results. The pathogenesis of renal fibrosis is related to blood stasis, and the method promoting circulation removing stasis often used as treatment principle. Danshen injection (DSI) a commonly drug for in clinic. However, whether DSI slows progression or potential mechanism uncertain. We investigated models using UUO mice TGF-β stimulation HK-2 cells. Our findings revealed that Fer-1 alleviated kidney injury by ameliorating morphology pathological vivo. Besides, inhibited vivo TGF-β-induced Furthermore, ferroptosis was lessened under treatment. More importantly, active ingredients (danshensu, salvianolic acid B, protocatechuic aldehyde, caffeic tanshinone IIA) could bind SIRT1. protein levels SIRT1 GPX4 were downregulated accompanied incremental concentrations Erastin, which repaired intervention. inhibition owing reversed inhibitor EX527. Taken together, our results indicated protect against attenuate activating SIRT1/GPX4 pathway. It expected be agent treat fibrosis.

Xuebijing injection (XBJ) is widely used to treat nephrotic syndrome (NS) in clinic, but its bioactive components and therapeutic mechanism are still unclear. In this study, the of XBJ were determined by ultra-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF/MS). The effect on NS was evaluated BALB/c mice induced adriamycin (ADR, 10 mg/kg) via a single tail vein. protective podocytes demonstrated using mouse (MPC-5) lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 4 μg/mL). results show that 33 identified. Furthermore, 12 detected blood, including protocatechuic acid, salvianolic acid C, benzoyloxypaeoniflorin, danshensu, A, B, catechin, caffeic galloylpaeoniflorin, oxypaeoniflorin, hydroxysafflor yellow rosmarinic acid. relative content (%) 59.32, 16.01, 9.97, 9.73, 8.72, 8.31, 7.92, 6.54, 1.54, 1.30, 0.68 0.59 order. After treatment, renal function, hyperlipidemia pathological damage improved model mice. Moreover, levels nephrin desmin which functional proteins reversed, pro-inflammatory factors reduced XBJ. Interestingly, C also showed good effects podocyte function level inflammation LPS-induced MPC-5. study first time elucidate potential for treating protecting function.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common chronic inflammatory joint disease. Improving microenvironment expected to promote early intervention and delay progression of OA. However, effective strategies for inhibiting OA-related inflammation are still lacking. Lithospermic acid (LA), a polycyclic phenol carboxylic extracted from salvia miltiorrhiza, has strong anti-inflammatory antioxidant effects. its role in treatment OA underlying mechanisms unclear. To improve bioavailability LA, an LA synergistic protects etched zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF)-8 nanoparticles (LA@ZIF-8) was designed developed targeted delivery modulate This study confirmed that LA@ZIF-8 inhibits pro-inflammatory phenotype RAW264.7 macrophages through NF-ĸB signaling pathway, effectively alleviates mitochondrial dysfunction, delays articular cartilage degeneration caused by mediated synoval macrophages. Heavy proteinuria is an important hallmark for kidney disease including nephrotic syndrome. Astragali Radix, a traditional Chinese herb, holds the potential to alleviate syndrome; however, underlying mechanism has not been completely clarified. The study aimed explore role of calycosin (C16H12O5), major active component in regulating adriamycin-induced proteinuria. A rat model syndrome was established through two adriamycin injections within weeks (4 mg/kg first week and 2 second week). After induction renal injury, 10 or 20 intraperitoneally injected into rats four weeks. Before euthanasia rats, urine blood samples were collected, body weight recorded. Then, 24 h protein content, index, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), as well function indicators urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCR), albumin excretory rate (UAE) measured. Hematoxylin-eosin staining cortex tissues performed evaluate glomerular structural damage. TUNEL assay cell apoptosis. Western blotting conducted measure levels podocyte-specific markers (podocin nephrin), Notch1, Snail tissues. Calycosin reversed increase concentrations indicators. ameliorated damage, inflammatory infiltration, basement membrane thickening rats. In addition, rescued suppressive impact on apoptosis podocyte markers. activated Notch1/Snail signaling suppressed by intervention. exerts protective against via inhibition signaling.
