This research investigates the effects of income, total energy consumption (TEC), price index (EPI), crude oil (COP), political risk (PRI), and geopolitical (GPR) on environmental degradation. In this context, study includes five Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which are mainly oil-rich have high fossil fuel with increasing degradation; considers monthly data from 2000/1 to 2021/12, deploys novel quantile-based methods. The outcomes demonstrate that (i) an increase in TEC, EPI stimulates degradation all GCC countries; (ii) PRI, COP, GPR mixed (iii) a causal effect regressors CO 2 emissions exists quantiles except for some middle (0.45–0.55) higher (0.95); (iv) power vary according (v) consistency results is validated based robust model. findings reveal generally harmful environment but, effects. methods underline significance stability as non-economic non-energy factors by demonstrating varying countries. Accordingly, various policies, such focusing stability, benefitting leverage, enabling transition clean energy, discussed.

Considering relatively high but recently decreasing environmental quality in the LAC countries with regard to world, this study uncovers progress of quality, which is proxied by load capacity factor (LCF). In context, considers renewable energy, trade openness, income, and globalization as explanatory indicators; uses data from 1990 2018; applies pooled mean group autoregressive distributed lag (PMG-ARDL) approach main model; performs panel Toda-Yamamoto (PTY) causality test robustness model. This important because have ecological reserves, whereas many an deficit. For reason, investigation has significance for world. Also, novelty terms examining using LCF quality. The results present that (i) energy improving impact on both short run long run; (ii) openness a stimulating (iii) however, economic growth degrading run. Hence, it can be drawn critical preserving developing line empirical findings, proposed should utilize effectively, improve volume through increase technology import, expand use foreign activities. Thus, effective policies promote achievement sustainable development goals (SDGs) countries.

Sustainable Development, Journal Year: 2023, Volume and Issue: unknown

Published: July 1, 2023

Abstract The curtailment of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions plays a pivotal role in realizing sustainable development goals, protecting the environment, mitigating climate change, and preserving biodiversity for cleaner more resilient future. Thus, it is essential to adopt comprehensive approaches that prioritize energy efficiency, renewable energy, urbanization achieve prosperous This study employs wavelet analysis methods, involving Wavelet correlation covariance, coherence (WTC), cohesion (WC), Wavelet‐based Granger causality (WCT), examine time frequency‐based interactions between variables over period 1990–2020. empirical reveals significant negative among CO efficiency measures such as coal gas short‐, medium‐, long‐term frequency domains. Similarly, usage also exhibit with during analyzed years short‐ medium‐term. Furthermore, intensity correlations considered varies across recommends implement policies enhance use, net‐zero goal fostering Sweden.

As the sustainability of environment is a very much concerning issue for developed countries, drive paper to reveal effects nuclear, environment-friendly, and non-friendly energy, population, GDP on CO2 emission Italy, country. Using extended Stochastic Regression Population, Affluence, Technology (STIRPAT) framework, yearly data from 1972 2021 are analyzed in this through an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework. The reliability study also examined by employing Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS), Dynamic (DOLS), Canonical Cointegration (CCR) estimators Granger causality method which used see directional relationship among indicators. investigation confirms findings previous studies showing that longer period, rising Italian non-green energy 1% can lead higher emissions 8.08% 1.505%, respectively, while alternative nuclear falling 0.624%. Although population green adversely influence upsurge CO2, they seem insignificant. Robustness tests confirm these longer-period impacts. This analysis may be helpful planning developing strategies future financial funding sector essential if country achieve its goals sustainable development.
