Numerous plant compounds and their metal-ion complexes exert antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, other beneficial effects. This review highlights the different bioactivities of flavonoids, chromones, coumarins metal-ions due to structural characteristics. In addition insight into most studied antioxidative properties these compounds, first part provides a comprehensive overview exogenous endogenous sources reactive oxygen nitrogen species, oxidative stress-mediated damages lipids proteins, on protective roles antioxidant defense systems, including plant-derived antioxidants. Tridentate ligands are simple low-cost pincers, easy to synthetize, and able guarantee stability the derived complexes. On other hand, due its unique mix of structural optical properties, zinc(II) ion is an excellent candidate modulate emission pattern as desired. The present work overview selected articles about complexes showing a tuned fluorescence response with respect their tridentate ligands. A classification pincers was carried out according binding donor atom groups, specifically nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur atoms, depending on structure obtained upon coordination. A new dual‐functional Cu(II) complex and its nanohybrid form encapsulated into NaY zeolite cavities were synthesized. The synthesized compounds characterized using elemental analyses, X‐ray fluorescence, infrared, 1 H NMR, electronic, electron spin resonance mass spectra, powder diffraction, surface area transmission microscopy in addition to conductivity magnetic susceptibility measurements. was catalytically tested for degradation of industrial wastewater. decolorization mineralization results indicate that the host is an effective heterogeneous catalyst real wastewater remediation. In addition, both free complexes as anti‐microbial anti‐tumour agents. show has a high activity (IC 50 = 14.4 μg ml −1 ). vivo toxicity experiments less toxic biocompatible material (LD 1245 mg kg catalytic properties, cytotoxicity make it promising eco‐friendly water remediation biomedical applications.
