In presalt reservoirs, natural rocks interact simultaneously with formation water (FW) and mineral oil. The prehydrated calcites FW demineralized (DW) are suitable model systems to investigate oil adsorption (removal) on (from) their surfaces by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Preliminary characterization of the chemical composition fresh cleaved calcite conditioned directly low salinity (LS) waters, FW, DW indicates that undergoes (i) surface dissolution once in contact diluted LS (LS100) as testified split ν3 vibration bands CO32- group (ii) partial modification e through Mg incorporation, anchoring at surface, salt deposit calcite/FW interface. Pristine (FW, DW) prewet were Nujol, an overall larger CH2 CH3 band intensity Nujol was observed than calcite/DW/oil calcite/oil interfaces. final conditioning calcite/oil, calcite/FW/oil, ended up greater removal for a saline solution 0.2 mol/L ion strength, independent prehydration. Our results indicate altered or affects subsequent removal, and, therefore, there is competitive role between brine strength compositions enhanced recovery process using water.

Currently, there is a widespread interest in the different methods of chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) as result continuous decline conventional reserves and accelerated increase global energy demand. Surfactant flooding well-established method EOR. This has proven successful it increases through combination mechanisms. These include interfacial tension (IFT) reduction, wettability alteration, foam generation emulsification. Despite its popularity, surfactant still challenged by issues including instability under harsh (or normal) reservoir conditions excessive adsorption. affect expected thereby reduce economic returns EOR projects. Nevertheless, surfactants can be properly selected according to rock type. usually carried out using screening methods, which impose limits related IFT, adsorption other factors given temperature salinity conditions. paper reviews characterization phase behavior, role recovery, onto rock, application on both laboratory field scales. Finally, review presents current research trends future prospects based recently published studies area flooding.

Due to the continuous depletion of crude oils in reserves, and rise energy demand, there is currently a widespread interest various methods chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Surfactants flooding improves by combining mechanisms this approach has proven be effective. Surfactant still threatened problems which are unstable under excessive adsorption harsh reservoir conditions. Research shown that anionic surfactant most preferred for EOR specifically with sandstone reservoirs. In some cases, after injecting non-ionic, cationic, or both surfactants, into carbonate reservoirs, better performance been documented. To produce surfactants reservoirs properties such as high/ultra-high temperature, ultra/high viscosity, ultra-high salinity, low/extra-low permeability, new knowledge needed. An ideal highest should possess larger IFT reduction, wettability alteration, asphaltene inhibition capabilities. This review provides an experimental study on application conventional unconventional EOR. Thus, establishing good foundation preparing designing prospective field-scale supported systems. Furthermore, presents influence oilfield element variation during flooding, types mechanisms, its mitigation, phase behavior etc.
