The recent COP27 has propelled nations towards achieving reduced environmental degradation. Governments are, therefore, required to develop effective policy tools improve their sustainability plans. In line with this, an empirical study is explore the all-inclusive effect of ecological on footprint (EFP) among world's top renewable energy consumption countries from 1994 2018. Recent studies degradation have focused while neglecting role tax. Thus, current fills this gap by exploring tax footprint. Furthermore, evaluates direct and indirect impact different levels EFP using method moment quantile regression (MMQR). DOLS, FMOLS, panel GMM techniques are also applied check robustness MMQR results. results indicate that directly significantly reduce EFP; however, these impacts insignificant in lower pollution. findings plays a leading changing structure environmentally friendly energies. show economic globalization human capital negatively. Finally, suggest GDP nonrenewable aggravates propose insights for policymakers mitigate boosting deter polluters investing more development.

Abstract Foreign direct investment (FDI) flows from developed to developing countries may increase carbon emissions in as are seen pollution havens due their lenient environmental regulations. On the other hand, FDI world improve management practices and advanced technologies countries, an reduces emissions. Most of existing studies examine relationship between by using aggregate flows; however, this paper contributes literature analyzing impact on Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) 1993 2012 bilateral eleven OECD countries. According our empirical results, which country BRICS matters for Our results confirm that Denmark UK confirming haven hypothesis. France, Germany, Italy reduced halo effect.
