This study presents an efficient way to degrade methylene blue (MB) present in water via photodegradation using H2O2 as oxidant the presence of UV irradiation and without use a catalyst. The reaction variables, employed evaluate performance process UV/H2O2 system, were amount reacting solution initial concentration blue. degradation was not observed during agitation darkness. time decreased increased after ideal reached. At this stage, it began scavenge generated hydroxyl radicals, rate became inversely proportional H2O2. An increase quantities MB improved efficiency because oxidation aided by appropriate length light exposure. experimental data obtained well-fitted zero-order kinetics based on high values correlation coefficient. It is believed that OH radicals (OH●) breakdown O2●− species attack molecules produce (MB●). These further experience convert intermediates finally CO2 H2O. system proved be quite for any solid can other organic pollutants industrial wastewater.

This study centerd on exploring the adsorptive potential of raw cotton for methylene blue dye adsorption. Several laboratory experiments conducted to optimize operational factors like pH, concentration dye, adsorbent dose, contact time, and temperature. Optimized conditions include an dose 0.35 g, pH 7, initial 20 ppm with time 30 minutes at ºC wherein 83% adsorption take place. The mean values ± standard deviation from triplicate were used express results P < 0.05. investigational data fit well Langmuir isotherm model having R2 0.9477 pseudo second order kinetic = 1. obtained capacities through non-linear models exhibit a significant degree similarity those derived linear models. Thermodynamic showed negative ∆G, positive ∆H increased ∆S revealing that reaction was spontaneous endothermic in nature. developed method also tested tap water which 72% removal subsequent regeneration system led nearly 79% desorption dye. Results revealed additive salts had minimum effect process. originality this is no research has been reported till yet, by using low-cost specifically its non-modified form.
