Abstract Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are actively explored as sensing materials owing to their high porosity, substantial surface area, and structural diversity, providing diverse chemical physical properties. Their fluorescent characteristics pivotal, enabling MOFs function probes for detecting specific target molecules. Unlike conventional disease diagnosis methods such biopsies or blood collection, the detection of pathogenic biomarkers in human urine is less risky. While mass spectroscopy identifies proteins metabolites at costs, MOF test papers offer a convenient solution. These confirm existence molecules through naked‐eye observation upon UV light irradiation wavelengths. MOF‐based facilitate diagnosis, including pheochromocytoma, toluene exposure, vitamin deficiencies, gout, hyperuricemia, cancers, body disorders, teratogenicity, with low limits. This review delves into recent developments probes, covering synthesis, emission spectra, mechanisms.

Constructing high-performance glucose sensors is of great significance for the prevention and diagnosis diabetes, key to develop new sensitive materials. In this paper, a series Ni2Co1-L MOFs (L = H2BPDC: 4,4′-biphenyldicarboxylic acid; H2NDC: 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic H2BDC: 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid) were synthesized by room temperature stirring method. The effects metal centers ligands on structure, compositions, electrochemical properties obtained characterized, indicating successful preparation layered with different sizes, stacking degrees, active areas, numbers exposed sites, catalytic activity. Among them, Ni2Co1-BDC exhibits relatively thin homogeneous plate-like morphology, modified glassy carbon electrode (Ni2Co1-BDC/GCE) has highest performance. Furthermore, mechanism enhanced oxidation signal was investigated. It shown that higher electron transfer capacity larger apparent rate constant Ni2Co1-BDC/GCE surface. Therefore, tunable non-enzymatic sensing carried out regulating ligands. As result, high-sensitivity enzyme-free platform successfully constructed based Ni2Co1-BDC/GCE, which wide linear range 0.5–2899.5 μM, low detection limit 0.29 μM (S/N 3), high sensitivity 3925.3 μA mM−1 cm−2. Much more importantly, it also applied determination in human serum satisfactory results, demonstrating its potential real samples.
