Abstract The present study aims to explore the long‐run and causal effect of financial development renewable energy consumption on environmental sustainability while controlling technological innovation economic growth within global framework. In line with aim study, fully modified OLS (FMOLS), dynamic (DOLS), canonical cointegrating regression (CCR), Bayer Hanck cointegration, frequency‐domain causality tests are employed. Empirical evidence confirms existence a linkage among variables. also finds that in long run, have significant positive sustainability, increases carbon emission flaring around world. Within framework, therefore, recommends order increase quality, policy‐makers should further consider roles by implementing reform policies both developed developing countries.

The present study examines the heterogeneity of renewable energy consumption, Carbon dioxide emission and financial development in global panel 192 countries. Panel quantile regression has been used for tickling distributional unobserved individual heterogeneity. findings indicate that our variables model on each others are heterogeneous across quantiles. More specifically, effect consumption carbon is negative while increasing influence emission. decreases use positively affects consumption. also found.
