Polyphenols are natural compounds with enhanced antioxidant properties. They present in relatively high concentrations fruit/vegetable by-products. Therefore, there is a need for the development of efficient and cost-effective methods separation purification these valuable compounds. Traditional extraction organic solvents needs to be switched novel that more efficient, reduced times low consumption solvents. Aiming at developing sustainable processes phenolic compounds, we used three model namely resveratrol, quercetin, gallic acid, investigate ionic liquid-based aqueous biphasic systems (IL-ABSs) formed by cholinium-based IL combination polypropylene glycol molecular mass 400 g/mol (PPG400). The ABS composition two-phase region was selected according previously determined phase diagram. Extraction studies indicated preferential partition resveratrol quercetin toward hydrophobic PPG-rich mainly dominated its nature strong salting-out effect ILs. On other hand, due considerably hydrophilic nature, acid preferentially migrates phase. achieved results from grape stem extract demonstrated efficiencies cholinium dihydrogen phosphate (~99% PPG 78% phase), considerable selectivity, demonstrating promising outcomes potential applications.

Adhesive-caused injury is a great threat for infants with premature skin or diabetic patients fragile because extra-strong adhesion might incur pain, inflammation, and exacerbate trauma upon removal. Herein, we present skin-friendly adhesive hydrogel patch based on protein–polyphenol complexation strategy, which leads to thermoresponsive network sensitive body temperature. The of the smartly activated after contacting warm skin, whereas painless detachment easily realized by placing an ice bag surface hydrogel. exhibits immunomodulatory performance that prevents irritation allergic reactions during long-period contact skin. Thus, works as conformable nonirritating interface guarantee nondestructively securing bioelectronics infant healthcare. Furthermore, provides gentle wounded favorable environment speed up healing process managing wounds.

The production of olive oil and wine are two the main agri-food economic activities in Southern Europe. They generate large amounts solid liquid wastes (e.g., pomace, mill wastewater, grape stems, lees, processing wastewater) that represent a major environmental problem. Consequently, management these residues has become big challenge for industries, since they harmful to environment but rich bioactive compounds, such as polyphenols. In recent years, recovery phenolic compounds been proposed smart strategy valorization by-products, from circular economy perspective. This review aims provide comprehensive description state art techniques available analysis, extraction, purification polyphenols winery residues. Thus, integration implementation could sustainable solution sectors.
