In this paper, we selected the northeast region as a study area from perspective of soil nutrient demand, calculated livestock carrying capacity farmland under three scenarios where nitrogen accounts for 35% (low level), 45% (medium and 55% (high level) fertilization, carried out risk analysis. The results show that scale husbandry breeding is expanding planting industry has remained basically unchanged. Under scenarios, there were 23 regions manure exceeded maximum value could be absorbed by in 2008 28 2019. These potential are mostly located Heilongjiang province restricted Liaoning Province. On whole, generally faced with problem overloading, insufficient utilization treatment poses huge threat to regional ecological security. Based on this, adjusting structure breeding, promoting development processing industry, enhancing production organic fertilizer, constructing an integrated pattern effective ways realize sustainable China.

Basin ecohydrological processes are essential for informing policymaking and social development in response to growing environmental problems. In this paper, we review watershed ecohydrology, focusing on the interaction between ecological hydrological processes. Climate change human activities most important factors influencing water quantity quality, there is a need integrate socioeconomic into paradigm of process studies. Then, propose new framework integrated management. It includes (1) data collection: building an observation network; (2) theoretical basis: attribution analysis; (3) modeling: medium- long-term prediction by human–nature interactions; (4) policy orientation. The paper was potential solution overcome challenges context frequent climate extremes rapid land-use change.

The Loess Plateau of China is one the regions with most serious soil erosion globally. ambitious "Grain for Green" project was there implemented to restore degraded ecosystems, profoundly changing water yield and carbon sequestration ecosystem services. Land use and climate change are important factors that help in driving changes ecosystem services (ES); understanding the mechanisms behind is critical to enhance functions. However, high degree of topographic heterogeneity Karst mountainous leads uncertainty spatial temporal differences their combined effects on ESs. To solve this problem, study measured four ESs, grain production (GP), carbon sequestration (CS), water conservation (WC), soil retention (SR), taking Qiangui mountains as a case area. The relative importance effect indices were established analyze interactions year-by-year land ESs based two scales full-pixel simultaneous climate. results show fluctuating trend an increase ES from 2010 2020, where both them had positive negative fluctuation within different years. Generally, land-use inhibited GP enhanced other they facilitated by change. entire area mainly affected change; stronger influence than 80% pixels. When only pixels considered, SR was influenced remaining change, but contributions showed significant interannual differences. Their dominated trade-offs for synergistic with 50–75% areas effects. shows analysis dynamics influencing provided more information, guiding identification hotspots impact future priority ecological conservation.

Ecological security is a critical guarantor of human and indeed survival closely associated with sustainable development. Yet exploration ecological assessment in alpine pastoral regions lacking, many studies have failed to perform validation analyses on results, weakening the reliability their results. In this study, an ecosystem health-risk-services framework developed assess Gannan region (GAPR) northeastern Tibetan Plateau from 2000 2020. Then, remote sensing index (RSEI) high-resolution images are then introduced verify compare results’ reliability. Water yield (WY) ecosystem service is an important ecological indicator in assessing water availability and sustainability. Although it was widely acknowledged that WY mainly driven by land use change climate factor, the intrinsic driving mechanisms remained unclear. Here, we selected Chengdu-Chongqing District Southwest China as study area, using InVEST model, structural equation modeling, scenario analysis to exhaustively reveal past future changes contribution rate of factors. The results demonstrated area experienced rapid forest expansion urbanization at expense cropland grassland last 30 years. In this region, increased approximately ∼130 mm during 1990–2020, attributed precipitation (>90 %), secondary potential evapotranspiration change. It projected end 21st century, would increase about 20 % under SSP585 compared historical average. We found every 100 produce additional 62–65 WY, with higher resulting larger coefficient due energy constraint there. Further, also elevation factor played a direct negative role (standardized path coefficient, b = −0.4, p < 0.05) precipitation, further indirectly, positively dominated (b 1.0, WY. This implied occurred areas lower elevation. These highlighted topographic climatic factors controlling such basin-featured which provided deeper understanding into science.

The water conservation (WC) function of ecosystems is related to regional ecological security and the sustainable development resources, assessment WC its influencing factors crucial for resource management. Tumen River Basin (TRB) located in core Northeast Asian network has been experiencing severe crises shortages recent years due climate change human activities. However, these have not fully revealed extent that corresponding scientific measures are lacking. This study analyzed spatial temporal evolution characteristics drivers TRB from 1990 2019 based on yield module Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) model. results showed that: 1) under combined effect nature socioeconomics, depth slowly increased at a rate 0.11 mm/yr past 30 years, with an average 36.14 mm. 2) main driving factor variation precipitation, there significant interaction between precipitation velocity, each higher than contribution single factor, interactions all nonlinear enhancement two-factor enhancement. 3) Among seven counties municipalities area, southern part Helong City southeastern Longjing extremely important areas (> 75 mm), they should be regarded as resources priority protection areas. It foreseen extreme conditions future, watershed great potential threat, such afforestation forestation begin immediately. Furthermore, interannual fluctuations may place more stringent requirements choice time scales ecosystem service process.
