Water and energy are key elements to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of human society. The aim this study is acknowledge enhance efficiency water-energy-related use (WERU) systems from a sustainable perspective. This paper proposes dynamic parallel-series data envelopment analysis model assess WERU towards targets SDG 6 7. system with structure consists water supply (WS), (WU), (ES), (EU) subsystems. To investigating role digital economy in enhancing 30 provinces China 2011 2020, intermediary effect spatial Durbin applied explore transmission mechanism spillover effect. main findings as follows: (1) average overall 0.60, primarily due suboptimal performance WU EU (2) central region has lower scores subsystems than eastern western regions. (3) indirectly boosts by stimulating provincial innovation industrial upgrading. beneficial local neighboring provinces. advocates for advancement encouraging innovation, upgrading structures, underscoring growth economy.

Both prevention and treatment are crucial for reducing industrial solid waste (ISW). The primary objective of this study is to explore the coupling coordination degree (CCD) China's provincial ISW from perspective efficiency analysis during 2011–2020 then investigate its driving factors in three steps. first step develop a base point network slacks-based measure data envelopment model address issue where indicators (ISW discharged, stored) some regions zero evaluation efficiencies. Secondly, CCD constructed Finally, explored using spatial Tobit model. results show that: (1) In 76.67% regions, higher than efficiency, 23.33% efficiency. entire country exhibits steady downward trend, while on whole, increasing. (2) with high mainly situated east, those moderate primarily located central region, basic mostly west. Only (Jiangxi, Guangxi, Shaanxi) exhibit imbalance. (3) improvement depends servitization structure, property investment intensity, traffic infrastructure construction significantly impede increase CCD.
