ABSTRACT Biodiversity loss has increased interest in understanding biodiversity patterns and their driving mechanisms global. A growing of empirical evidence suggests that, addition to purely species diversity, studies phylogenetic diversity can provide distinct but complementary information about mechanisms. The great application potential of hydrogel adsorbent in water treatment has been widely reported recent years. However, practical is severely restricted due to the tedious preparation procedures, high energy consumption, and environmental threat spent after adsorption. To address these challenges, a new method was proposed this study prepare granular composites through one-step polymerization induced phase separation (PIPS), initiated via redox reaction consisting with calcined oil shale semi-coke (COSSC) active ingredients green tea (GT) at 40 oC. Then applied remove NH4-N wastewater, adsorbing used as medium for plant growth. exhibited favorable swelling capacity 205 g/g excellent adsorption 40.2 mg/g NH4-N. Remarkably, process achieved equilibrium only within 30 min. avoid influence soil other factors, we conducted soilless cultivation experiment, results showed that total seed biomass mung bean increased by 33.69% adding 1% hydrogels into culture medium. Based on above performance, presented feasible idea offered promising strategy sustainable utilization adsorbent.

Abstract Aim The assembly of real‐world ecological communities in human‐modified landscapes is influenced by a complex interplay spatial, temporal, environmental and invasion gradients. However, understanding the relative importance these drivers their interactions shaping functional remains elusive. Our study aimed to investigate influence on stream fish metacommunity. Location Streams Lake Balaton catchment, Hungary. Methods We analysed long‐term (18‐year) dataset metacommunity, focusing changes diversity (Q), redundancy (R) species dominance (D). Ternary diagrams were utilized decompose into Q, R D components visualize patterns. Linear mixed‐effect regression separate structural equation models employed identify significant D. Research programs on Biodiversity-Ecosystem Functioning (BEF) and Food Web Structure (FWS) have contributed to understanding the impact of biodiversity functioning architecture ecosystems, but interconnectedness between these components was seldom attended until recently. Several theoretical hypotheses predict an interconnection BEF FWS were poorly independently evaluated. We estimated 63 sink food webs predatory fish in Parana River, covering a large gradient community richness. evaluated available their interrelationship through path analyses. A well-supported causal structure identified, supporting that species richness directly increased standing biomass, modularity, intermodular connection, whereas decreased interaction strength, connectance, nestedness. direct positive effect modularity connectance biomass indicates can determine BEF. Richness promotes increase also decrease due decay with similar negative effects biomass. In this sense, relationship diversity ecosystem cannot be blind FWS. Environmental homogenization reduction functional may undermine conditions for modular webs, switching ones potential cascading whole ecosystem.

The resource utilization of sheep dung from farming waste was evaluated in adsorption total phosphorus (TP). Nitrogen pollution in water bodies presents a serious threat to ecosystems due its role eutrophication. In this study, the aerobic denitrifying bacterium Alcaligenes faecalis was used as model microorganism investigate optimal operating conditions for nitrogen removal from nitrogen-containing wastewater by under different aeration modes, microbial dosages and C/N ratios. The results showed that mode efficient bacterial denitrification 10 min of with 30 interval, total reached 87.82%. At doses, NO3−–N completely denitrified NO2−–N accumulation levels were reduced, all which resulted significant denitrification, final efficiencies 86.39–98.50%.
