The accumulation of excess CO2 in the atmosphere has been associated with a closely related decrease 13C/12C ratio CO2. However, our knowledge on impacts carbon isotopic compositions source photosynthetic fixation algal and its underlying mechanisms remains limited. Here, effects isotopicaliy light Nitzschia closterium were evaluated using metabolomics, stable isotope techniques, enzyme analysis physiological indicators. results showed that promoted growth fixation. Stable indicated absorbed CO2for photosynthesis, resulting lower δ13C algal. Enzyme ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) activity increased under low abundance source. Metabolomics further rrevealed upregulated TCA cycle algal, mainly flowed to amino acids fatty acid synthesis pathway. Overall, changes port areasprovides new insights marine cycling increasing atmospheric
