Microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are becoming an increasingly severe global problem due to their widespread distribution complex impact on living organisms. Apart from environmental impact, the effects of MNPs organisms have also continued attract attention. The harmful has been extensively documented in marine invertebrates larger vertebrates like fish. However, research toxicity these particles mammals is still limited, possible humans poorly understood. Considering that commonly found food or packaging, primarily exposed them through ingestion. Phthalates, widely utilized in industrial products, are classified as endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Although certain phthalate and their metabolites have been implicated cancer development, the reported findings exhibited inconsistencies. Therefore, we conducted comprehensive literature search to assess association between risk by identifying original studies measuring phthalates or reporting correlation with until July 4, 2023. The Odds Ratios (ORs) corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were extracted analyzed estimate risk. Pooled data from eleven studies, including 3101 patients 6858 controls, using a fixed- random-effects model based on heterogeneity tests. When comparing extreme categories of different metabolites, observed significant urinary (MEHHP, MECPP, DBP MBzP) our meta-analysis reinforce existing evidence that is strongly associated development. Further investigations warranted elucidate underlying mechanisms this association. These results may offer novel insights into

The tremendous plastic production and poor post-use management are current future sources of environmental human contamination due to their degradation products: microplastics nanoplastics (MNPLs). Methodological developments have allowed MNPLs be detected in an increasing variety foods, as well stool colonic mucosa. It was suggested early that the direct contact between intestinal tissues could represent a potential risk for health. In order assess this, over last 3 years, numerous studies evaluated impact MNPL ingestion on homeostasis rodents. Abstract Background Current evidence from epidemiologic studies suggested that phthalate metabolites might be associated with blood pressure (BP) changes. However, the special relationship between and BP changes in children has not been clearly elucidated existing researches. Objectives We investigated links various parameters, including systolic/diastolic BP, mean arterial (MAP), presence of hypertension. Methods The population sample consisted 1036 aged 8 to 17 years 2013–2018 NHANES United States. High performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry was used measure urinary concentrations 19 metabolites. Systolic/diastolic were derived average three valid measurements, MAP calculated as (systolic + 2 × diastolic BP)/3. Hypertension defined systolic and/or ≥ 95th percentile for gender, age, height reference. Linear regression, logistic weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression models employed assess associations exposure MAP, Results Ten MCNP, MCOP, MECPP, MBP, MCPP, MEP, MEHHP, MiBP, MEOHP, MBzP had detection frequencies > 85% samples more than 1000. generally negatively but protective factors These modified by age (8–12 13–17 years) or sex (boys girls). above-mentioned further confirmed application WQS analysis, MCOP identified chemical highest weight. Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is a widely used plasticizer, which can cause damage to male reproductive organs, especially the atrophy of testis. Meanwhile, DEHP also lead decrease in testicular zinc content, but role remains unclear. This study aims prepare oyster peptide-zinc complex (OPZC) alleviate DEHP-induced mice. OPZC was successfully obtained through electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis, with stable structure high water-solubility. Low dose (OPZCL) significantly reduced caused by Further research had shown that OPZCL restored content serum hormones activity oxidative stress kinases normal, while normalizing selenium levels. In addition, it recovered disorder gut microbiota, proportion Bacteroides, increased abundance Ligilactobacillus, Acidobacteriota, Chloroflexi, Proteobacteria. Therefore, relieve mice restoring homeostasis composition intestinal indicating has potential protective effect on health.
