Hydrophobic eutectic solvents (HES) show significant promise as extractants for metal ions. At their current stage of development, however, they have many disadvantages, such high costs, limited data on reusability and, often, lower extraction efficiency when compared with traditional systems. This study investigates the physico-chemical properties five HES formulations based 1-octanol in combination camphor, 2′-hydroxypropiophenone, menthol, 1-octanoic acid, and thymol. The 1-octanol/camphor exhibited substantially higher Fe(III) ions than a solution toluene at same concentration. Furthermore, it showed stability used mixer-settler type extractor. achieved rapid re-extraction rate, phase contact time reduced to just 2 min, without loss efficiency. Using supported liquid membrane method, proposed Oct/Cam enabled threefold concentration iron raffinate under continuous operation, confirming its potential reusability.

Bisphenol A (BPA) raises concerns among the scientific community as it is one of most widely used compounds in industrial processes and a component polycarbonate plastics epoxy resins. In this review, we discuss mechanism BPA toxicity food-grade plastics. Owing to its proliferation aqueous environment, delved into performance various biological, physical, chemical techniques for remediation. Detailed mechanistic insights these removal are provided. The toxic effects unravel changes at cellular level brain, which can result learning difficulties, increased aggressiveness, hyperactivity, endocrine disorders, reduced fertility, risk dependence on illicit substances. Bacterial decomposition leads new intermediates products with lower toxicity. Processes such membrane filtration, adsorption, coagulation, ozonation, photocatalysis have also been shown be efficient aqueous-phase degradation. breakdown discussed. review demonstrates that high efficiency usually achieved expense throughput. For scalable application degradation technologies, needs remain We propose need process intensification using an integrated combination processes, solve multiple associated challenges.
