Abstract This article discusses the solar assisted technologies from Indian subcontinent to address sustainable development targets developed by united nations programme. For water and renewable energy, presented in this paper include carbon sequestration, biomass, power plants with thermal photovoltaic systems, irrigation heating dryers, distillation desalination, treatment. Various techniques are suggested for clean recovery using distillation, stills, desalination. methods of drying fruits vegetables have been discussed flat plate collector. Power production solar-thermal, solar-photovoltaic biomass systems covered recent studies.
