Background: Vitamin D deficiency is associated with sleep disorders and poor quality. Whether vitamin supplementation (VDS) helps resolve these problems remains unclear. Objective: To systematically review the effect of VDS on quantity, quality, disorders, perform a meta-analysis available data. Methods: The reporting this followed PRISMA statement. human interventions studies that reported or were included. Medline, CINAHL, EMBASE, PsycInfo, Cochrane Library, Clinicaltrials.gov, ICTRP searched, in addition to references included articles previous relevant reviews, without language time restrictions. Included critically appraised, findings narratively synthesized, was conducted. Furthermore, overall certainty evidence assessed. Results: A total 19 (13 randomized controlled trials (RCTs), 1 opportunistic an RCT, 4 pre−post studies, study analyzed as case series); 3 RCTs meta-analyses. risk bias generally low. Pre−post showed significant improvement quality VDS. Similarly, results revealed statistically decrease Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index compared placebo (mean difference, −2.33 (95% CI, −3.09, −1.57); p < 0.001; I2 = 0%), moderate evidence. regarding sleep-related impairment, difficulty, well sleepiness restless legs syndrome, not unanimous. Conclusions: promising improving quality; however, its quantity needs be further investigated.

Gut microbiota comprises the microbial communities inhabiting our gastrointestinal (GI) tracts. Accordingly, these complex play a fundamental role in many host processes and are closely implicated human health diseases. Sleep deprivation (SD) has become increasingly common modern society, partly owing to rising pressure of work diversification entertainment. It is well documented that sleep loss significant cause various adverse outcomes on including immune-related metabolic Furthermore, accumulating evidence suggests gut dysbiosis associated with SD-induced In this review, we summarize caused by SD succedent diseases ranging from immune system organs highlight critical roles The implications possible strategies alleviate SD-related also provided.

A significant proportion of patients who sustain a concussion/mild traumatic brain injury endorse persisting, lingering symptoms. The symptoms associated with concussion are nonspecific, and many other medical conditions present similar Medical that overlap symptomatically include anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, fatigue, fibromyalgia, cervical strain injuries. One the factors may account for these similarities is all disturbances in optimal functioning autonomic nervous system its intricate interactions endocrine immune system—the three primary regulatory systems body. When clinicians working presenting persisting after concussion, evidence-based treatment options drawn from literature limited. Abstract Inter‐individual differences are necessary for selection to act, while plasticity (intra‐individual variation) may buffer against selection. Sleep is a critical self‐maintenance behaviour but, unlike most behaviours, the causes and consequences of its inter‐ intra‐individual variation in wild animals poorly understood, particularly neonates where sleep plays key role development. We have shown previously that free‐ranging neonate fallow deer ( Dama dama ) differ during first few weeks life. Here, we test whether individual variability organised systematically across population, these associated with chronic stress measured using hair cortisol, or timing birth. Four dimensions (total time, fragmentation, quality, distribution over 24‐h) were quantified state‐of‐the‐art triaxial accelerometers. then used multivariate mixed‐effects model Bayesian framework evaluate covariation between multiple behaviour, quantify relative importance birth, accounting confounding effects environmental conditions age. found birth not changes individuals. While both total time number bouts per day declined age, their rate development covaried, but no other covaried. Our results represent an in‐depth analysis natural sleep, show four aspects architecture free‐living fawns strong independent one another unrelated suggest might emerge later life cortisol be very short transient.

Mounting evidence suggests that there is a close association between chronic sleep deprivation (CSD) and cognitive deficits. The animal model of CSD-induced deficits commonly used to seek potential treatments. Soy isoflavones (SI) have been reported possess antioxidant, anti-inflammation, neuroprotective effects. In the present study, effects SI on memory impairment were investigated. mice subjected interruption apparatus continuously deprived for 2 weeks, while orally administrated with (10, 20, 40 mg/kg) or Modafinil (MOD,100 during CSD process. Immediately after SD protocol, performance was evaluated by object location recognition (OLR) test, novel (NOR) Morris water maze (MWM) task, as well hippocampus, extracted evaluation oxidative stress parameters inflammation levels through biochemical parameter assay western blotting analysis. results showed administration remarkably improved CSD-treated in OLR, NOR, MWM tests. addition, significantly elevated total antioxidant capacity superoxide dismutase enzyme activities, decreased malondialdehyde level, promoting element nuclear erythroid-2-related factor 2, its downstream targets, including heme oxygenase 1, quinone oxidoreductase 1 protein expressions. Moreover, treatment suppressed kappa B p65, nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase activation, pro-inflammatory cytokines (Tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α], interleukin-6 [IL-6], interleukin-1β [IL-1β]) release hippocampus mice. summary, current study provides an insight into CSD.

The detrimental effects of sleep disturbances on health and wellbeing are well-established but not fully understood. allostatic load model has been suggested as a framework for understanding the adverse disturbances. We conducted systematic review meta-analysis to examine associations disturbance duration with load. PubMed, PsycINFO, Embase, Web Science were searched records relating published from 1993 January 14th, 2022. Two independent raters screened 395 titles abstracts 51 full texts. Data extracted 18 studies that assessed methodological quality. Of these, 17 26,924 participants included in meta-analysis. Sleep was significantly associated higher (effect size correlation [ESr] = 0.09, p < 0.001), association weaker samples larger proportion women. When compared normal sleep, long (ESr 0.12, 0.003). Results indicated heterogeneity. No found short 0.05, 0.069) or -0.06, 0.36). Future research should identify mechanisms directionality longitudinal studies.
