Management
and
organization
studies
have
begun
to
recognize
the
embodied,
relational,
structural
challenges
that
disabled
employees
encounter
in
workplace.
However,
existing
research
has
primarily
focused
on
with
already
established
disabilities,
limiting
our
understanding
of
how
cope
onset
progression
an
invisible
disability.
To
address
this
gap,
study
examines
experiences
50
UK-based
following
hearing
loss.
Drawing
theory
self-compassion,
findings
illustrate
they
notice
their
disability,
loss
makes
them
feel,
what
actions
take
alleviate
associated
suffering.
Our
main
contribution
is
highlighting
disability
at
work,
by
revealing
nonlinear
self-compassion
trajectories,
showing
fosters
advocacy
for
self
others.

Cystic
fibrosis
is
a
rare
genetic
disease
that
significantly
reduces
life
expectancy.
Therapy
can
delay
the
progression
of
disease,
but
it
onerous,
time-consuming
and
makes
more
visible,
creating
sense
not
belonging
to
healthy
peer
group
young
people
desperately
want.
Recent,
very
expensive
advances
in
therapeutic
interventions
have
dramatically
reduced
both
load
visibility
condition.
Drawing
on
long-term
ethnographic
study
Germany,
I
explore
how
this
changes
ways
with
cystic
negotiate
belonging,
which
experienced
as
metaphorical
immigration
into
world
healthy.

paper
formulates
an

from
our

with

reflections
on
frictions
Hartmut
Rosa’s

resonance,
which
we
brought

dialogue

solidarity
initiative
that
sprang
up
Italy
during
Covid-19
pandemic
–
SpesaSospesa.
Our
findings
contribute
to
current
post-growth
debate
by:
(1)
shifting
organizing’s
focus
trying
overcome
capitalist
expansionist
striving
toward
contaminating
its
building
blocks;
(2)
theorizing
ways
organizations
may
thrive
space
time,
relationally;
(3)
proposing
form
reflexive
transformative
expands
by
constantly
basic
elements.
