Purpose In recent years, the global focus has increasingly shifted toward adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) due to growing concerns about environmental sustainability and imperative reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The transportation sector, a significant contributor air pollution climate change, faces increasing pressure embrace EVs as solution. However, resistance exhibited by customers adopting new technology poses substantial obstacle widespread EVs. Drawing on link between theory reasoned action (TRA) self-congruity theory, this research aims determine factors that affect customer intention EV. Design/methodology/approach conducts questionnaire collecting 950 respondents from Egyptian market. used primary quantitative data online self-administered questionnaires. Findings findings indicated green trust, price sensitivity reliability have positive impact customer’s intention. self-image congruence was not affecting For moderating role financial self-efficacy, it is relationship purchase intentions Research limitations/implications This will expand conceptualizing its abstract notions through variables implementing them in Furthermore, links two distinct theories. knowledge can be utilized policymakers stakeholders expedite Originality/value study presents conceptual framework for managers buy EVs, since international organizations emphasize eco-friendly systems.

Reconditioning electric vehicle (EV) batteries for reuse as spare parts could extend the lifespan of EVs and reduce environmental impact battery production. However, this circular option's viability depends on consumer acceptance reconditioned batteries. This study presents a discrete choice experiment among German residents to address issue. A mixed logit behavioral model Hierarchical Bayes estimation are used evaluate experiment. The was conducted online surveyed 1152 participants, with 837 providing sufficient data analysis. results indicate that there might be EV parts. considerable number respondents opted option when presented hypothetical replacing defective in their new or battery, scrapping purchasing working vehicle. finds is primarily influenced by expected lifetime associated costs. Ecological factors play minimal role more bonus. also reveals younger non-EV owners exhibit greater concern regarding losses compared older owners. self-assessment concerning most least decisive characteristics shows connection between stated importance attributes actual choice, but relatively weak. lead conclusion industry academic institutes should see reconditioning an emerging research field requests solutions prolonging batteries' while ensuring economical pricing satisfy demands consumers.

Background: The automotive industry is pivotal in advancing sustainability, with electric vehicles (EVs) essential for reducing emissions and promoting cleaner transport. This study examines the determinants of EV adoption intentions Thailand, integrating demographic psychographic factors from Environmental psychology innovation diffusion theory; Methods: Data a structured questionnaire, administered to 4003 respondents at gas stations charging facilities across were analyzed using Correlated Mixed-Ordered Probit Model Heterogeneity Means (CMOPMHM); Results: Findings indicate that younger adults, particularly those aged 25–34 years old 45–54 old, are more likely adopt EVs, whereas conventional or hybrid vehicle owners less inclined. Rural residency travel also hinders adoption. Individuals strong environmental values openness new technologies EVs; Conclusions: proposed model quantified relative importance these uncovered heterogeneity user preferences, offering reliable valuable insights policymakers, manufacturers, researchers. suggests targeted policies enhanced infrastructure, especially rural areas, recommends leveraging trialability through communication campaigns test drive events. These can guide development incentives, infrastructure expansion, strategies, programs effectively promote wider Thailand similar markets.
