Design/methodology/approach The utilizes a mixed-method approach, employing stratified sampling strategy get representative sample 1,284 enterprises from various sectors within logistics industry European Union. Data were gathered by computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) analysed utilizing structural equation modelling (SEM) evaluate hypotheses concerning cognitive congruence, diffusion integration. Findings results indicate that while task interdependence clearly improves face-to-face communication, excessive congruence can hinder innovation, resulting what article terms “cognitive rigidity.” study suggests achieving balance between flexibility is crucial improving safety process. Originality/value presents an innovative conceptual framework synthesizes rigidity examine their combined influence transfer dissemination throughout It stiffness as boundary condition, contesting conventional belief more invariably advantageous.
