Abstract Recently, there has been a greater focus on the relationship between entrepreneurship and digital economy in academia practice. However, no known work systematically reviews analyses such connection, which highlights need to address this gap by conducting thorough systematic literature review employing bibliometric scientometric concerning research. In doing so, analysis of key trends as well knowledge structure (i.e., intellectual conceptual) employed analyze, visualize, map 275 documents gathered from Web Science (WoS) Scopus data sets. Purpose Applying the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) model, this study aims to explore how AI-driven stimuli (e.g. ChatGPT adoption in entrepreneurship and perceived AI competencies) stimulate individuals’ cognitive organisms digital entrepreneurial opportunity exploration exploitation), these individually, congruently, incongruently trigger their behavioral responses nascent start-up activities).
