Progressive physiological changes in the hippocampal dentate gyrus circuits following traumatic brain injury (TBI) contribute to temporal evolution of neurological sequelae. Although early posttraumatic synaptic and extrasynaptic GABA currents have been reported, whether they evolve over time remain distinct between two projection neuron classes, granule cells semilunar cells, not evaluated. We examined long-term tonic spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic (sIPSCs) neurons 3 months after moderate concussive fluid percussion (FPI) adolescent rats. Granule cell current amplitude remained elevated up 1 month FPI, but decreased levels comparable with age-matched controls by postinjury. sIPSC frequency, which we previously reported be increased week higher than at was significantly reduced FPI. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the major causes death and disability worldwide, brings a huge burden on quality life patients with TBI country's healthcare system. Peripheral organs, especially kidney, liver, may be affected by onset molecular responses following tissue damage. While secondary post has been well studied in brain, effect/consequences these peripheral organs have not yet fully elucidated. Thus, our study aimed to investigate immunoreactivity responses, particularly via proinflammatory cytokines autophagy markers kidney liver post-acute chronic TBI.
