The regulation and metabolism of the endocannabinoid system has received extensive attention for their potential neuroprotective effect in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is characterized by amyloid β (Aβ) -induced cell toxicity, inflammation, oxidative stress. Using vitro techniques two lines, mouse hippocampus-derived HT22 cells Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) expressing human cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1), we investigated ability endocannabinoids to inhibit Aβ aggregation protect against toxicity. present study provides evidence that N-arachidonoyl ethanol amide (AEA), noladin O-arachidonoyl ethanolamine (OAE) Aβ42 aggregation. They were able provide protection induced cytotoxicity via receptor-mediated non-receptor-mediated mechanisms CB1-CHO cells, respectively. kinetic experiments demonstrate anti-Aβ activity some (AEA, noladin). These data role application AD pathology treatment.

Biodegradable polymers are susceptible to environmental degradation, particularly when exposed factors such as moisture, temperature, light, and microorganisms. To mitigate these aging degradation processes, the incorporation of anti-aging substances is crucial. While polymer industry has traditionally relied on synthetic stabilizers, there a growing interest in naturally occurring compounds environmentally friendly alternatives. Hemp extract, focus this study, promising natural stabilizer mixture that readily available. Hemp-derived stabilizers represent relatively new area research polymeric materials, with limited studies evaluating impact hemp extract processes. This study investigated effects weathering thermo-oxidative PLA matrices containing using infrared spectroscopy, spectrophotometry, static mechanical testing, surface free energy analysis. These findings demonstrate effectively inhibits but catalytic effect atmospheric aging. difference can be attributed distinct oxidation reduction reactions under varying conditions, resulting different decomposition products. Further warranted due increasing its derivatives functional materials substances, well amount waste generated during their production.

For millennia, various cultures have utilized cannabis for food, textile fiber, ethno-medicines, and pharmacotherapy, owing to its medicinal potential psychotropic effects. An in-depth exploration of historical, chemical, therapeutic dimensions provides context contemporary understanding. The criminalization in many countries was influenced by the presence psychoactive cannabinoids; however, scientific advances growing public awareness renewed interest cannabis-related products, especially medical use. Described as a 'treasure trove,' produces diverse array cannabinoids non-cannabinoid compounds. Recent research focuses on treating conditions such anxiety, depression, chronic pain, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, epilepsy. Additionally, secondary metabolites like phenolic compounds, terpenes, terpenoids are increasingly recognized their effects synergistic role with cannabinoids. These compounds show neuro non-neuro disorders, studies suggest promise antitumoral agents. This comprehensive review integrates perspectives cannabis, highlighting vast medicine.

Medicinal plants are an excellent source of bioactive components and gaining significant attention for food protection due to their properties. In this context, hemp (Cannabis sp.) is being explored such applications because its well-known antibacterial antioxidant activities. However, the efficacy cultivars currently grown in Northern Alabama has not been widely studied. Therefore, purpose study was evaluate physicochemical properties two (Hemp 5 Hemp 17). inflorescences at Winfred Thomas Agricultural Research Station were used study. The activity content extracts determined by ferric reducing power, radical scavenging activity, total phenolic content, flavonoid content. Antibacterial against cocktails Listeria monocytogenes (LM) Salmonella enterica (SE) evaluated optical density disc diffusion. All treatments analyzed triplicate, analysis variance conducted with statistical significance based on p ≤ 0.05. Results indicated that defatting significantly affected (p 0.05) properties, 17 DF (defatted) having highest RSA (70.51 ± 4.24%) compared positive control ascorbic acid (83.81 5.85%). results had a lower negative controls (LM SE). These findings suggest can potentially be utilized enhance safety quality. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: extract enhancement quality application inherent antimicrobial

Cannabinoids are unique meroterpenoids, with cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) serving as a dedicated precursor. This study introduces fungal aromatic prenyltransferase AscC into the engineered Escherichia coli to catalyze transfer of C5-C15 terpenoid linear precursors olivetolic acid. Four CBGA derivatives (compounds 1–4) diverse C5, C10, or C15 prenyl chains isolated and identified, compound 4 being an undescribed product featuring chain at C-5 position. Compound demonstrates highest anti-neuroinflammatory antibacterial activities, IC50 values 3.06 µM for TNF-α 4.31 IL-6, alongside EC50 ranging from 0.87 3.16 against three Gram-positive bacteria. An efficient construct is established by incorporating additional copy AscC, resulting in yield 14.85 ± 0.91 mg/L 4.
